  1. Thanks! I would hope for a tapering off, but not happening so far.
  2. That makes sense. Since I usually react so quickly to food, I just assumed it was the breakfast muffin.
  3. Lick the toaster handle. LOL!!! I am already super germ conscious because I have such a weak immune system. Not going to catch me licking anything in that kitchen.
  4. Is there someone else you can talk to? I always ask my doctor's office for a copy of the results and have not had a problem getting them.
  5. Thank you.
  6. Do you know how long it takes damage to show up from when Celiac is first triggered? I'm pretty sure the mono I had in April triggered it -- and wonder if there would be any damage yet?
  7. They are Glutino English Muffins and I have been eating them for breakfast for the last week and a half without problems. Maybe I am reacting to the previous day's gluten, hadn't thought of that. Although I felt ok until I ate that muffin. I kind of feel like I am getting worse by the day the last few days. Sigh. I will use your suggestion of...
  8. Can I get glutened by touching the toaster handle?
  9. I'm still doing a gluten challenge before my endoscopy, but I'm trying to only eat gluten at night because it makes me so sick. This morning at work I made my gluten-free English Muffin in the shared Toaster Oven -- as I have done for the past week. I always lay foil down on the shelf before I put the muffin in so it's only touching brand new foil. ...
  10. P.S. I would definitely prefer to know one way or the other. I already know I can't tolerate gluten, but I'd still like to know for sure.
  11. I don't know if that part of Obamacare has kicked in yet -- if it has, then it is illegal. It was true several years ago when I was in between jobs.
  12. No worries. I was just curious. I already have asthma and cannot get insurance on my own. I can only get it through a job where they have to take you.
  13. Why would it make it harder? There's no medicine to be given out. Is it because if people don't comply with the diet they get sicker?
  14. Really? I would never have thought of that on my own.
  15. Thanks, Lisa! No apologies necessary. Not your fault that things went sideways here. I'm going to keep going and at this point I feel like I will make it. Just keeping my eye on the big goal. When I have my consultation with the GI, I'll tell her how hard this is on my system, and hopefully she'll schedule the endo quickly. I'm very grateful for all...
  16. Thank you, IrishHeart. I appreciate the advice! I am learning a lot and everyone is making this process better -- I don't feel so alone.
  17. Thank you. I caused part of this myself by assuming when I was done with the blood test, I could stop eating the gluten. I didn't realize you needed to keep eating it for the endoscopy. Either way it turns out, it's obvious to me I can no longer tolerate gluten.
  18. So your blood tests were negative, too? I am going to keep going and get through this. Thank you for the encouragement!
  19. Thanks, Davina. My reaction to gluten continues to surprise me. I swear it gets worse by the day. Hang in there!
  20. Thanks, Lisa. I really appreciate how helpful you have been! I was off gluten for about 9 days, but went back on thanks to you and the board. If I can make it, I would like to get a diagnosis. As it is, I'm a little concerned the GI won't find anything because it hasn't been long enough. The majority of my symptoms started after I got mono in April ...
  21. I originally went off gluten for a week after my blood tests, but after advice from people on the board, and checking with the doctor's office, was told to keep eating gluten until the endoscopy.
  22. My blood tests were negative, but my doctor still wants me to have the endoscopy. I will call and ask about getting in earlier -- that's a good idea. I'm really surprised at how my reactions to gluten are getting worse over time.
  23. Today being a particularly hard day, I'm really wondering if the endoscopy is worth eating gluten. My consultation is not until the 23rd, and I don't know how long it would take to schedule it after that. My symptoms are extreme fatigue, muscle weakness and nausea. Do you think it's worth it to keep going? I feel like I'm torturing myself.
