  1. I've never liked extra virgin olive oil. I've always heard it was the best, so I assumed it would taste better than regular. Maybe I'll look into the regular (or the light that Mushroom suggested). Could it be the Canola oil that made me sick? Or is it more likely the tuna?
  2. I'll look for sunflower oil. (My sister made the same mayo with olive oil, and it did not taste good.) Maybe I should try eating just tuna with nothing on it (ick) and see if I get sick again. But not right away...
  3. Kirkland brand: White tuna, water, salt. Pyrophosphate added. No soy, no broth. Do you have a problem with soy? Or just tuna?
  4. I made my own mayo without soy, and used it today with tuna. I'm super queasy. Could it be the tuna? Or the Canola oil? I don't think I have a problem corn. I eat chicken tacos on corn tortillas without a problem...
  5. That's awesome! It's been 2.5 hours since I ate my mayo with tuna and I'm really queasy. Dang it. Could it be the Canola oil? Do Celiacs have problems with that? Or could I have developed an intolerance to tuna?
  6. I have not been able to find a mayo without soy, and started searching for mayo recipes. Open Original Shared Link This was super easy and the mayo came out great.
  7. I react to soy the same as gluten. Nausea, fatigue, muscle weakness.
  8. I found a recipe for easy mayo -- so I will try that this weekend. And I found a ranch dressing recipe I will try. Thanks for the tips! I only like milk chocolate, but I can probably live without it. It's just disappointing. I really don't understand why soy is in nearly everything these days.
  9. Before the thyroid problem, her soy issue went away? Or just soy lecithin?

    ARCHIVED Jail/prison

No food. No x-ray. I had a ct-scan but nothing to drink for it. I was shocked that the nurse knew nothing about gluten in medication. Shouldn't medical personnel know that stuff?

    ARCHIVED Jail/prison

If it wasn't in the shot, it was in the pills they gave me.
  12. Well that's better than nothing! I'll take it.
  13. Well I already know that soy makes me sick. I have really been trying to talk myself into the fact that soy lecithin won't bother me. Wrong. Maybe I can get away with one Sees bordeaux. Although now I'm scared. But that's it. I got a box for Christmas. I apparently can't do 3 one day, and 2 the next day without paying the price for over 24 hours...

    ARCHIVED Jail/prison

I was recently in the ER and when I asked about the medication they were giving me and whether it had gluten in it, they had absolutely no clue. One nurse said why would there be gluten in medication? I'm pretty sure the shot they gave me was full of gluten based on my reaction. It took me a week to fill the antibiotic prescription because first I had...
  15. I made Udi's gluten free stuffing and it was super yummy! It was the best part of the meal! Open Original Shared Link (FYI, I left the fennel out.)
  16. Wow, that's so awesome!!! Very clever!
  17. Ugh! I don't eat a lot of canned food, but I hope I stay ok with corn!
  18. That does sound good. I'm going to try the tuna plain the next time I feel up to it, and if all goes ok, I'll try the avocado! Thanks for the info on Canola, I was worried about it. Good idea! It wouldn't surprise me. I don't really trust companies to be open about what they are doing with our food.
  19. I don't think I have a problem with corn. I hadn't heard that about the cans! How can you tell if a can has been lined with the corn-based plastic?
  20. I'll look around for one this weekend. I can't believe how many things have soy in them! You don't worry about the canola oil? I've never liked yogurt, but I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
  21. This is why I have to ask for help. Clueless. I never knew there was soy in the mayo. But I have been putting it on sandwiches with no problem. So maybe it's the amount of mayo because there is more when it is just tuna and mayo? I don't think I could eat just plain tuna without mayo. I have no problem with salmon or shellfish that I am aware...
  22. Originally I thought it was the soy in the tuna that was making me nauseous. So I bought the cans with just tuna and water. No soy. But after 3 tries, 2 weeks apart for each try, I still get nauseous and fatigued. I use Kraft Best Foods mayo in it, my own bottle, so it's not contaminated. So frustrating. I have always loved tuna. Up until the mono...
  23. Yay! I forgot I had cheerleaders!
  24. Thanks DS. Nice to know I have company.
  25. Thanks everyone. It really helps to know that you have all felt the same way. It's feeling overwhelming when I look at this is for the rest of my life. And I'm discouraged because I had read about people feeling better after a couple of weeks. I guess I'm not one of them. I haven't found much information on withdrawal, but also hoping that would explain...
