  1. Hi bartfull!

So, how are you doing? It sounds like you are having some ups and downs, yes? Whatever you wish to share, I will listen! You were there on a "bad" day for me--(after my avocado adventure:( On Friday, I was out-of-it! And you kept talking to me. Just so I could get more grounded. It made a huge difference to me! :) Now, how 'bout *you*?

  2. L.J., you are such an uplifting personality, and I am so glad you have joined the forum! No matter if I am having a bad day, just reading your posts makes me feel better! I hope you are feeling better soon!

  3. Hey Bartfull! How are you? Thanks for looking up the info--it is actually confusing, yes? I have just been wondering how you are? I know you said that you did not have DH/rashes but then I assume you are struggling with the rest of the symptoms...But here, I found out that one can not really assume. We all have different reactions, yet similar...
  4. Hi GottaSki, Good idea with the potatoes...I have not "tried sweet potatoes"--it is one of the foods I want to add first. I think I can eat white potatoes--definitely eating rice. I cannot eat any cashew, nuts, almonds, or chocolate. etc. I have been trying to avoid sweets for two weeks (at this point--1 week and 2-3 days to go! Then I will be...
  5. Hi Squirmy! I am sticking with the one that is no salt, etc...My rash is better (said quietly)--and no d. I am truly going to try to for the two weeks...it is hard in that I need more calories, literally. I mentioned it to GFin, but I am seriously low on calories with no need to lose more weight. I am as low as I want to go. The low salt etc. food...
  6. Hi FP! Good to know you are feeling better!!! I am beginning to recuperate from my little avocado spree! That adventure kicked my arse...I am still taking naps (which I normally don't do) as well as going to bed early. Oh, what an exciting life I live right now! I am on the no gluten, no peanut, no tomotao, and no salt cleansing "eating plan...
  7. Hi LauraB0927! Hmmm, a growing rash on your fingers sounds *very* familiar in a "not so great way" For me, it started with a rash on my legs--and then a rash on my fingers. After awhile, the "rash" exploded into the blisters. Just something for you to be aware of maybe? Thank you for your encouragement! Isn't it great that we can talk about...
  8. Hi Megsybeth! It is amazing that so many things get blamed on "psychosomatic and stress issues"...Enough to scream when you are hurting so bad and no one listens to you! We all have the times that we have to feel bad about the time in pain and misery--being a "good girl" and such!...When we find our "fight" and quit being quiet, we find empowerment...
  9. Actually PF, the whole list is *not* on my safe list--only half of them are...the other half are on my "no" list...Makes me wonder about the half I think are safe. But, I will see... One question, (seems simple...but I am a bit fearful of trying new foods still)??? I have been wanting to try some pure cherry jam on a Rice Cake--Lundberg now! ...
  10. I am scared to eat sesame seeds myself...rather, I should say that when I have tried them, I seem to react! So I am very leery of them! Thanks for the sharing of info--Anaphylactic pretty much has taken it out of me--I am still feeling exhausted! Froggy headed! And honestly, I have not driven--I truly do not think I am able to think well right now...
  11. Hey PF Uhhhh, I thank you for this list--But these are most of what I considered my "safe" foods. Just finished eating a pear! Seriously, these are *all* on my almost daily eating list...I am not sure what to do with that! After thinking bananas were "very safe" only to find out they feed into the avocado allergy thing! Ugh! I'll keep...
  12. Hi Maryw88! I too have some similar issues as you do. GottaSki gave you some great "starter advice". I am still a Newbie here, but have found amazing information! For me, I stick with vegatables and "freshly cooked" meats that I make--restaurants are a scarey place for me still! I also have severe food allergies--and I agree with ?? (darn...
  13. Hi TctWhite! Congrats on making it through the fair without giving in to the "poison" around you! That's what I call the food that I can't eat--poison--cause for me, I feel poisoned! You did great! I agree with earlier posts--reward yourself with some healthy safe foods, and always take some of your yummy snacks when going anywhere there is food...
  14. Welcome LolaB! I found this site recently as well! You are in the right and safe place! The advice is phenomonal! And best of all, you will find support, understanding, compassion and (my personal favorite) humor! Which also helps as you work your way through "the mire" that most of us feel at the beginning! I too went through a stage of ...
  15. I too quit eating fresh tomatoes because of the high acid. Even canned affected me. Is that salicylates? I don't know, but tomatoes are on my "no eat" list! Shroomie is right when she says cooking makes them more concentrated--I had a strong reaction when I cooked some down and made a sauce.
  16. Hi G Fin, Yes, fish are wonderful! Please consider it a compliment! I am sure that you don't have time to reply to everyone or keep track--this is a *very* busy site! An update--I had an Anaphylactic Reaction Thurs. pm. Bad one. Won't go into the details, but, (I mentioned it to Bartfull) that I thought you would be especially interested to...
  17. Well Squirmy, (In my mind I call you Compassionate Squirmy--seems to fit you well) Yes, the avodado thing pretty well messed my mind up.. Foggy... But better every hour! Please do what you need to do...I appreciate your feedback, info, and of course, your compassion! Hugs to you! (((((((((Squirmy))))))))) Just in case you need...
  18. Hi bartfull! I *knew* there had to be a funny story behind your name! LOL Mystery (and confusion) is the way of life it seems! We can relish it--or be scared! I prefer relishing the confusion and accept the unexpected!
  19. Ohhh Mushroom, So true. I am stronger. I am still fighting the dragon--more than I knew. But I am stronger...and I found out (through my daughter who is an RN in cardiac ICU) oh, now I feel really old I found out that if there is an allergy to latex, then there is probably an allergy to bananas and avocados. Guess what I have been eating...
  20. I am just going to write...I hope that is ok. I called my doctor for an Epi Pen--they thought they could get me one after last night without seeing my doc (who has Friday off) Both of my doctors dealing with this flippin' problem are off today! Note to Self--Only have extreme reactions during the days, preferably Monday-Thursday! I am not driving...
  21. Hi Jlaw! I have heard that our bodies don't react instantly--it just seems like mine dones. It means I need to be aware though! I had eaten the avocado at lunch...then dinner. I think that is why I am relating it to the problem last night. Everything else I ate was on my "very safe list" of gluten-free free (and my other allergy free foods). Thanks...
  22. Hey Bartfull, Interesting that they are related, eh? Thanks for not running away! Also, thanks for looking up the site. I won't go into it right now...I believe what you found! So, on a lighter note--what is Bartfull ?? Just curious--I have just been wondering
  23. Hi Mushroom! I think I just need to get a little "grounded" today... Thank you for responding. I don't know if I am auto-immune--but I know my body seems be reacting to a lot of things. In severe ways... I think that is an understatement regarding last night
  24. Bartfull, Please don't run away! Do you have anything just anything to say to help me get more grounded? OK, GFin is a "farty-pants"...last night I think I fit that description too though!
  25. Ugh and Itshay!... Bad I had a good day. Just a few outbreaks on my skin after eating avocado. Came home, had dinner. One hamburger plain patty with avocado on the side. Itshay again... I went into the bathroom--I wasn't feeling well. It was within 30 minutes of eating. I was sweating profusely all over my body. I thought "this...
