  1. So after many many months of not feeling well, questioning everything i eat, even sometimes avoiding food all together. It occured to me that every doctor that I saw was placing the blame on celiac disease, which is quite a pet peeve of mine. so finally when i was at my gynocologist i put my food down. turns out i have endometriosis, which can be the cause of many stomach symptoms, the shooting and constant pain, and the occasional attack of captain D (ha as many people call it)...i was to the point where i didn't know what to do anymore, thank goodness i got an aswer!! i'm having surgery the 13th and then trying the strictly organic diet and keeping my fingers crossed that it helps and i can get back to feeling normal.....it pays to question things.........i just wish everytime i didn't feel well people wouldn't say "oh well what did you eat this time"........Nothing actually THANKS! ha

  2. I'm a big dip person as well - works great with a load of fresh, raw veggies - spicy garlic hummus, black bean dip with sundried tomatoes, and raw ranch dressing are my favorites. Sauteed mushrooms are also good. :-)

Tiffany, you are super healthy....i still haven't been able to bring myself to try the hummus....but you have it in so many of your recipies.....i just might fold.

  3. Does anyone have some really fantastic appetizer recipies for a new years party that i'm hosting....I found a few but I am sure that you guys have a TON that you could help me with. I threw the hat in this year and said that I was hosting and I would be able to eat everything at my party!! starting off the new year right instead of starving!!

  4. I think Kimberly gave some good suggestions. What exactly are you eating on a typical day and what specifically are your symptoms?

Honestly, I barely eat anymore....when I do i make sure that it is known gluten free stuff that i can eat and still sometimes that doesn't even work.

  5. I have been getting sick all of the time lately, even when i'm following my diet. I'm to the point where I dread going out because I'm afraid I'll get caught somewhere without a bathroom. My anxiety about it has shot through the roof lately...my doctor prescriped a mild anti depressant, saying that it will help me relax. I was wondering if a

hmm, sorry about that, i guess it didn't post everything. I was wondering if an all organic non processed food diet would be the way to go....I know about the naturally gluten free foods but I don't know much about putting together a non processed meal or anything...can anyone help???

I have an early morning dentist appointment and all i can help wondering is if my stomach is going to be alright......i hate letting this disease run my life....

  7. So I love ice cream, and turkey hill ice cream is one of the best!! So I sent a letter to the people at Turkey Hill. OH MY GOSH...they sent me this whole long list of their gluten free products and then send me a whole bunch of free coupons just for showing an interest in their company. I love it when people know what i'm asking about and then go out of their way to make sure that your experience is the best. I highly recommend writing them and asking about the gluten-free stuff!!!

  8. I thought it would be fun for everyone to post their favorite christmas cookie recipie.....My family does this HUGE cookie exchange and I can't ever really take part in it anymore. So I thought maybe this year I could gather up some great cookie recipies for y'all and then have my own options!!!

  9. I used to work in a bar and most places soak their bar guns in soap and water or bleach. The questionable things that come out of the bar gun are the juices, cranberry and orange, that is usually where i ran into the problem..However, if the bar or restaurant are "clean" then usually their soda gun is as well,

  10. So i was pretty sick for awhile and couldn't figure out why....turns out Apple Cider was the problem....I read the ingredients and everything seemed totally fine, but it just made me ridiculously sick....I wouldn't have figured out what the problem was if it weren't for my mom making me a completely gluten free meal and me having apple cider with the meal. Anyone else know of anything like this?

Secondly..........everytime I have Hunts tomato paste/sauce I get that uh oh feeling in my stomach and spend quite some time in the bathroom....everything seems harmless in the label, but this has happened like four or five times....any one know anything??

And what about splenda, can we have splenda....

haha sorry for all the questions, i've had them building up for quite some time.

  11. I've had the pasta and cereal....the pasta is pretty good however the cereal seems to be a big miss. Maybe it is just me, but the ceerios are just horrible....something about the flour used gives it a pretty terrible aftertaste when milk is added. They tast ok without milk, in small amounts.

Some people disagree with me, but I honestly think they're one of the more icky tasting things....but heck, at least someone is trying to make a cereal!!

  12. Stress actually triggers reactions for me, even if i'm not glutened...I'm a graduate student that just has so much on my plate right now that my stomach hurts on a daily basis....so now i'm going to the doctor this coming week to see what the deal is. Mom said maybe I'm lactose intolerent, which I'm not sure can just come out of no where can it? If i'm that too, someones gonna flip out

anyway, i'm going to talk to the doctor about other things that are tied on to celiac disease and what i can do, i'll let you know how it goes

  13. I've actually been getting sick from the tomato sauce, I've read the ingrediants and everything looks ok, but i noticed the tomato fiber ingrediant is the common factor between the sauces that make me sick and the ones that don't. Maybe it's just the extra fiber or maybe it's something that triggers my celiac disease...all i know is that it kicks me right in the butt everytime!!

never any problems with the corn pasta though, could be the brand

  14. Ok, so i belong to this sillyaks email group and i got a hit about these heartlands finest cere-o's cereal that aparently were excellent and tasted like cheerios. Obviously i got really excited about it and went and ordered 3 bags. Regular, Cinnamon and Raspberry. Well not only were they small bags for a lot of money like a lot of our products seem to be, but they weren't very good!!

I tried the Raspberry ones dry and they seemed ok so I poured myself a big bowl with some milk and dug in. The first few bites were ok but after awhile i just couldn't even deal with the taste! Hopefully the cinnamon and regular ones will be better, I'll keep everyone posted!!

  15. Ok......now i'm the first person to say that being on a gluten free diet hasn't been easy, and although i used to cheat i've been much better. however, i only have changed my diet. am i the only one who thinks that getting gluten free soap, hair products, makeup and everything is a bit overboard?? once i stopped cheating with my diet i've felt a lot better.. sure there are days that are worse than others but that's with everyone celiac or not. i don't get shampoo in my mouth, i wash my hands so all the soap actually gets off. my dog eats regular food not gluten free food and i think i handle it all pretty well.

i talked to my doctor about this and he thinks that as long as i am on the diet i'll be fine. any comments?

  16. I drink it too with no problems..........I'm glad it worked for you!! The different absolut flavors make for an excellent evening :)try absolut apeach with orange juice and a splash of genadine, or the usual absolut vanilla with coke......also good is absolut rasberri, manderin and then sex on the beach stuff.......

    sorry i'm a bartender ahha!

  17. fat's ok every once in awhile......i don't care about that sort of stuff right now, i'm 23....i eat what tastes good, and i can get away with it thanks to being an athlete!!!

although, i don't like sour cream :) so i'm ok in my book
