    my whole family just did the stool testing at EnteroLab. we got tested for gluten antibodies, tissue damage, nutrient malabsorption, as well as multiple food sensitivities. VERY sensitive tests!!!

    wait! i just looked at my daughter's results and reference ranges, and noticed that you had a 4 on the ttg iga? the reference range is 0-3. ttg is an enzyme found IN your intestinal cells. when gluten antibodies attack your intestines, the ttg comes out, and you form antibodies against it. those ttg antibodies can then go through your blood and attack other...

    my daughter tested negative on the whole panel, except tTG IgG. she was a mild positive (9) after 2 weeks on gluten, and a positive (12) after 6 more weeks on gluten, so the doctor said he thinks she has celiac disease. i read that 70% of full-blown celiacs will test negative on the panel, but almost 100% test positive on stool testing from EnteroLab....

    food allergies (IgE mediated) as well as food sensitivies (IgG mediated) can cause postnasal drip. dairy is very inflammatory, regardless if people have senstivies to it or not. my daughter got postnasal drip and then asthma from dairy. after i pulled it out of her diet for 1 yr, she can now eat it, in limited quantities.

    we all have the genetics for celiac disease. me, her, and the youngest daughter are DQ2 heterozygous. hubby is DQ8 heterozygous. son is DQ2-,DQ8-, but carries an uncommon allele.

    they originally did the whole panel, and everything came out negative, with a total igA being normal. but, when i called the office yesterday, it seems they ordered the wrong test!!!!! they ordered the ttg igA, which was always negative. they were suppose to order the igG, to compare the results to last time! so i called the lab, told them about the mistake...

    my daughter had a blood TTG of 9.     oh honey, that sounds horrible! if you had ttg, though, you already KNOW you have tissue damage... enough to create an autoimmune response within yourself, whereby your antibodies are attacking your intestines (and God knows what other body organs!) and i agree that it is not your fault they didn't sedate you correctly. and i agree with nvsmom... nobody needs...

    thank you SO much!!! and btw, she had a fasting/tolerance glucose test and she does not have diabetes. dairy intolerance huh? so should i test her stool for dairy antibodies also? i was just going to do gluten. but will add in dairy if i get more answers to the puzzle. you are SO much help to me... thank you so much!!!!

    wow! thank you so much!!! i've never heard of the dcp test. must go look into this. i don't think it's part of the celiac panel that my pedi runs. darn! anyway, what are other causes of ttg igG being high? my oldest daughter has negative everything on the panel, but positive ttg IgG. since she has been very gluten-reduced for 3 years, and only ate gluten...

    so we saw the pedi GI specialist today. i asked him to order the full celiac panel for my son and youngest daughter and he said no. that it wasn't necessary. he only wants to oder ttg IgG and ttg IgA. i said "but my son doesn't have the genetics for celiac, like my daughter does, but i want to know if he has anti-gliadin antibodies to see if he is gluten...

    you can get the stool test. since the bowels are where the damage is being done, it makes sense to test there. on the website, they even say that you don't need to eat gluten first, as that can cause devasting effects to the person, and the antibodies are usually there for a while. here's the link to read up on it: (excellent read!!!) we are all getting the...

    it is interesting what you wrote, thank you for explaining. however, i don't understand how you can write "those levels do not correlate with damage". just curious,,, how do you know that? how do you know that antibodies at a smaller amount aren't causing harm? (and i'm not questioning you. im genuinely wondering how you know that, so i can take this info...

    this is what my daughter's paper says: "tissue transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. studies have demonstrated that endomysial igA antibodies have over a 99% specificity for gluten senstive enteropathy". so, what kind of igA did you have positive? because if it is ttg igA, then you most likely have celiac. no matter if they...

    i really hope you find some answers. i think that if they found out it was celiac, it wouldn't be surprising, especially with the "diarrhea as a child" thing. and the autoimmune thing. celiac tends to run with AI stuff. good luck!

    shadowicewolf~ kids eat very limited gluten, as the household is gluten-free, because i am, and i"m the cook! lol! i've also noticed meltdown-like behavior when kids eat too much gluten. my oldest daughter (10yo) got facial tics, that went away after she went gluten-free. after about a year, i let her slowly introduce gluten, and after months, tics came back...

    i would get my children tested if i were you. i'm very sensitive to gluten, and antibodies were found in my husband's and my saliva, so i got the gene and full celiac panel done on my children. i would never wait for symptoms first, as gluten can be wrecking havoc inside, and you would never know it. i have a friend who was completely fine, and was diagnosed...
