ARCHIVED Why Would Ttg Disappear?! Help!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms what she said! thanks! (i didn't say celiac's don't have antibodies, i said that just because you have antibodies to gluten, doesn't mean you have celiac disease.)

ARCHIVED Why Would Ttg Disappear?! Help!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms celiac does not produce the gluten antibodies. 2 of my children have gluten antibodies, yet (according to the specialist) do not have celiac disease. your plasma cells (derived from B lymphocytes) make antibodies to certain foods. IF it attacks the intestines, it is called celiac disease. if it attacks other organs, it's called "non celiac gluten sensitivity...

ARCHIVED Confused...hurting...kerid replied to Deezel52's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms my whole family just did the stool testing at EnteroLab. we got tested for gluten antibodies, tissue damage, nutrient malabsorption, as well as multiple food sensitivities. VERY sensitive tests!!!

ARCHIVED Test Results In, Please Help.kerid replied to somi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms i know, but her other results were the same, so i thought it might be the same. but just in case it wasn't, i put the reference range in.

ARCHIVED Why Would Ttg Disappear?! Help!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms ncgi is quite serious, as the gluten antibodies can attack other organs in the body. so, we got the results of jeanna's blood tests back. her ttg igg after 2 weeks on gluten was a weak positive (9), but after 4 more weeks, was a positive (12). so the doctor said that she has celiac disease. remember that she was about 90% glutenfree for 4 1/2 yr prior...

ARCHIVED Test Results In, Please Help.kerid replied to somi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms wait! i just looked at my daughter's results and reference ranges, and noticed that you had a 4 on the ttg iga? the reference range is 0-3. ttg is an enzyme found IN your intestinal cells. when gluten antibodies attack your intestines, the ttg comes out, and you form antibodies against it. those ttg antibodies can then go through your blood and attack other...

ARCHIVED Test Results In, Please Help.kerid replied to somi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms my daughter tested negative on the whole panel, except tTG IgG. she was a mild positive (9) after 2 weeks on gluten, and a positive (12) after 6 more weeks on gluten, so the doctor said he thinks she has celiac disease. i read that 70% of full-blown celiacs will test negative on the panel, but almost 100% test positive on stool testing from EnteroLab....

ARCHIVED Can Celiac Or Food Allergies Cause Post Nasal Drip?kerid replied to MoMof2Boyz's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms food allergies (IgE mediated) as well as food sensitivies (IgG mediated) can cause postnasal drip. dairy is very inflammatory, regardless if people have senstivies to it or not. my daughter got postnasal drip and then asthma from dairy. after i pulled it out of her diet for 1 yr, she can now eat it, in limited quantities.

ARCHIVED Why Would Ttg Disappear?! Help!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms they originally did the whole panel, and everything came out negative, with a total igA being normal. but, when i called the office yesterday, it seems they ordered the wrong test!!!!! they ordered the ttg igA, which was always negative. they were suppose to order the igG, to compare the results to last time! so i called the lab, told them about the mistake...

ARCHIVED Why Would Ttg Disappear?! Help!kerid posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms my daughter had a blood TTG of 9. (reference range was normal- 0-3, mild positive 4-9, positive 10.) this was after being on gluten for only 2 weeks (she's been about 80%gluten-free for the last 4 years). the pedi gi specialist said that he wanted to redo the test after a full 8 weeks on gluten to see if the numbers go up. if they do, she most likely has...

ARCHIVED Biopsy ...so Frustrated At Myselfkerid replied to VeggieGal's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms oh honey, that sounds horrible! if you had ttg, though, you already KNOW you have tissue damage... enough to create an autoimmune response within yourself, whereby your antibodies are attacking your intestines (and God knows what other body organs!) and i agree that it is not your fault they didn't sedate you correctly. and i agree with nvsmom... nobody needs...

ARCHIVED Doctor Said Anti-Gliadin Test Not Necessary!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms thank you SO much!!! and btw, she had a fasting/tolerance glucose test and she does not have diabetes. dairy intolerance huh? so should i test her stool for dairy antibodies also? i was just going to do gluten. but will add in dairy if i get more answers to the puzzle. you are SO much help to me... thank you so much!!!!

ARCHIVED Doctor Said Anti-Gliadin Test Not Necessary!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms wow! thank you so much!!! i've never heard of the dcp test. must go look into this. i don't think it's part of the celiac panel that my pedi runs. darn! anyway, what are other causes of ttg igG being high? my oldest daughter has negative everything on the panel, but positive ttg IgG. since she has been very gluten-reduced for 3 years, and only ate gluten...

ARCHIVED Doctor Said Anti-Gliadin Test Not Necessary!kerid posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms so we saw the pedi GI specialist today. i asked him to order the full celiac panel for my son and youngest daughter and he said no. that it wasn't necessary. he only wants to oder ttg IgG and ttg IgA. i said "but my son doesn't have the genetics for celiac, like my daughter does, but i want to know if he has anti-gliadin antibodies to see if he is gluten...

ARCHIVED Verbal Diagnosis--Push For More Testing?kerid replied to Kerceli's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms you can get the stool test. since the bowels are where the damage is being done, it makes sense to test there. on the website, they even say that you don't need to eat gluten first, as that can cause devasting effects to the person, and the antibodies are usually there for a while. here's the link to read up on it: (excellent read!!!) we are all getting the...

ARCHIVED Kids' Test Resultskerid replied to Ang724's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms it is interesting what you wrote, thank you for explaining. however, i don't understand how you can write "those levels do not correlate with damage". just curious,,, how do you know that? how do you know that antibodies at a smaller amount aren't causing harm? (and i'm not questioning you. im genuinely wondering how you know that, so i can take this info...

ARCHIVED +Igg, But -Iga?! Help!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms this is what my daughter's paper says: "tissue transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. studies have demonstrated that endomysial igA antibodies have over a 99% specificity for gluten senstive enteropathy". so, what kind of igA did you have positive? because if it is ttg igA, then you most likely have celiac. no matter if they...

ARCHIVED +Igg, But -Iga?! Help!kerid replied to kerid's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms shadowicewolf~ kids eat very limited gluten, as the household is gluten-free, because i am, and i"m the cook! lol! i've also noticed meltdown-like behavior when kids eat too much gluten. my oldest daughter (10yo) got facial tics, that went away after she went gluten-free. after about a year, i let her slowly introduce gluten, and after months, tics came back...

I'm gluten-free, as i was sick my whole life, nausous every single day, went gluten-free because i was nursing my 18mo, who i wanted gluten-free for neurological purposes, and i felt AMAZING!!! have eaten gluten here and there, and have always felt horrible, so gluten-free i am. got kids tested...

ARCHIVED Should I Have My Children Tested?kerid replied to Mgyoung77's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms i would get my children tested if i were you. i'm very sensitive to gluten, and antibodies were found in my husband's and my saliva, so i got the gene and full celiac panel done on my children. i would never wait for symptoms first, as gluten can be wrecking havoc inside, and you would never know it. i have a friend who was completely fine, and was diagnosed...
