  1. funny you should mention this......i used to get that in the same exact areas. i am not diagnosed by a dr as having celiac (negative blood results), but i believe that i definitely have some sort of intolerance as my symptoms indicate gluten/wheat intolerance. in any case, after changing my diet, i no longer get the swollen lymph nodes. i did have my dr...
  2. i was told by my dr that if i ingested something that caused my allergic reaction, to take pepcid as it also works like an antihistamine in the gut. but i'm not sure if pepcid is gluten free or not. i only took it when i had my huge hive breakout and stopped taking it after that. now if i have gut issues i just drink peppermint tea and tums or lemon...
  3. wow that definitely does sound like an allergy. make sure to keep benedryl on hand just in case it gets worse. hope you figure it out. good luck and hope you feel better soon.
  4. the tongue swelling happens to me usually a day or two after i eat pasta, bread, or beer. but i'm not sure if that's your cause b/c you said you went gluten free. it could be a different food that isn't agreeing with you. when i tell my dr's about my swollen tongue they look at me like i'm crazy and i'm making it up and i've told the emergency room at...
  5. I relate the hives and tongue swelling to ingesting gluten, wheat products, beer, etc. Seems to happen after I eat pasta, breads, and sometimes other foods that tend to bother my stomach.
  6. Hi All, My experience recently has been that having a cup of peppermint tea, zyrtec, and then a tums before bed helps alleviate tummy issues and sinus congestion at bedtime. The zyrtec is to control my hive breakouts. I don't do all these things at the same time. I space it all out in a couple hours before bed. I believe it also helps with my occassional...
  7. i bought the silk almond milk and it didn't really agree with me for some reason, maybe it is one of the ingredients that bothered me.
  8. mine seem to be: bananas apples clementines eggs chicken salmon asparagus homemade soup salad gluten free rice cakes natural peanut butter natural jelly w/no added sugar gluten free/lactose free cheese
  9. the sleep paralisis dreams are scary! i get those and i hate them...they freak me out!
  10. i know the peanut butter granola bars my husband purchases give me major stomach bloating. i can't tolerate them at all. i didn't want to eat gluten again either after i started to feel better for my bloodtest, but i got the tests done anyway. everything came back normal. i'm just sticking with what makes me feel well.
  11. i eat the cabot cheeses that are labelled gluten and lactose free.
  12. i believe i am rh negative as well. i was told that when i experienced my miscarriage.
  13. how long did it take you to come off the antihistamines? i hate taking them everyday, but i do for itchy skin and hives. how did you know when you could officially stop taking them? i never used to have any seasonal allergies at all. now everything bothers me and even dust. it's very frustrating. thanks.
  14. Thanks everyone for the detailed explanation. That was a great help! I have another question: how many of you are on a daily antihistamine? I have been on daily antihistamine since my hive breakout back in august 2012.
  15. extemely interesting...i had never known this before. this explains why i probably always feel faint! especially after that darn detox thing i tried. i actually left work early today b/c i told my boss i felt faint. everything i am reading on this forum is really helpful! it's all making sense now.
