  1. Please share...I am very curious to learn how the data from these tests helped you when beginning on a gluten free diet, how so?
  2. No, I've been wondering whether I should, as from what I understand it doesn't diagnose celiac disease specifically, only that I would have an auto-immune disease? If this is the case, then it would come up positive because I have auto-immune thyroid disease and it would be a waste of my money. If this is specific, I would get it done in a heartbeat, but...
  3. opps, looks like I hit the reply button to my own post
  4. ahhh....missed an important part of the study.... [[[biopsy]]] which means, this is not a blood test. how frustrating that they can obtain an antibody test from your blood for thyroid, but not for intestinal, because it needs to be from the mucosa and not the blood...ahhhh...okay.
  5. I've been looking for a better test than IgE, since that is immediate response, and the one the docs always want to give us. Since celiac disease is autoimmune, that doesn't make sense. What also doesn't make sense to me is having an IgA test done, being it only indicates having an unspecified auto-immune disease. Since I have already been diagnosed having...
  6. How is your thyroid? Might do to have it tested, if you haven't.
  7. Family history above you, below you, and to the side of you as well as genetic on paper for yourself should be diagnosis enough for you to never second-guess yourself in the future...some of us don't have the familial support or resources. If you are serious about wanting to feel better, it's not crazy go gluten free as soon as possible...just know that if...
  8. lol, lol, this made me chuckle...I question everything....not so sure it's encouraging for many here, or for me, for that matter... thank you for your feedback. guess it makes sense I could be in a less reactive stage (aside from my initial post ), they say your body changes every 7 years, and I reacted more in the beginning of the 10 years...plus, it...
  9. attempted with neither blocked, IE 10 though...
  10. ooo.... that rash sounds painful itchy! thank you so very much for the genetic testing info, it's good to know why you like Celiac Specialist over Prometheus. I just popped by the allergist's office today and without being seen, they handed me a sheet for a RAST test. My guess that isn't the test I really want though, because it's IgE and immediate as opposed...
  11. I'm not allergic to citric acid, its just what aggravates the acid reflux the most. All it takes is some guacamole with only a few chunks of tomato, and it's quite painful if I don't take meds for it. I know some who get the little blisters inside their mouth, is that what you get? This is why I never did the challenge in the first place. I would love...
  12. nope, hitting enter once, doesn't work, nor does hitting enter twice, because I've just tried both
  13. Can't seem for the life of me how to figure out new paragraph on here. I've been using <b> and </b> but cannot seem to get it to work? Can someone please advise how to/what I am doing wrong? Thanks!
  14. I've so missed being here, thanks for the post! Quit my meds just recently, was having compound, as was cheaper, but still had issues even with 50mcg dose of Synthroid...closely monitoring my thyroid, and going to try something called guggul from my local co-op to support my thyroid function instead. Glad you are feeling better, being sick on thyroid meds...
  15. For 10 years, I was STRICT, absolutely NO cheats whatsoever, but I ate crackers at a party last month thinking they were gluten-free, discovering they were not after I had eaten a few. I waited a month, expecting to become ill, or at the very least, have DH, but when I didn't have symptoms, I guess I started experiencing all the second guessing someone who...
  16. Thought so, thanks. She sent me a letter after saying she wanted to continue to work with me, but I've only had one small outbreak since then, and it was over the weekend, so I never called her back, as by Monday I would have been in the same boat as I was last time. Hoping with my gluten-challenge, I will get enough of a rash will be able to have that biopsied...
  17. Yes, she must, as I questioned her when she drew with marker on my foot where she was to take the biopsy as to why she was taking from the side of it. I'm thinking I might have went past the time where it would have shown on a test? I think I remember reading that the blisters must have just formed or something, and if they have popped and healed it's too...
  18. Thanks Pegleg! I've been thinking on the challenge/biopsy thing..which is another reason why I am shouting out. It has been months since I've been felt like I've been bitten...and maybe more, as I have just recently discovered mushrooms now give me the same distress and I might have been confusing the two. Concerned the doc won't find anything even if I do...
  19. I guess the reason why I am so confused is, that I used to get really ill from just a very little amount, and now I can eat full on with no symptoms...I mean, I used to get really, really ill. When I had the crackers last month, I was tossing and turning all night waiting for a reaction and didn't get one, as that was the first time I had put something in...
  20. No, I wasn't tested for anything before I went gluten-free...I was miserable with the dh rash as mentioned, so I tried, felt better (but still made mistakes because of all the hidden stuff so not totally better) then I had a stressful situation dealing with a very ill parent and that is when I went off the wagon. I became so very ill and that is when they...
  21. Oh, and I want to support you, K, since you've just begun, I am certain the more you avoid gluten, the more your rash will ease up. Itchier than a b---h, andits all you can think about when you aren't ripping your skin raw from scratching, I do understand that. My main reason for stopping was because of the rash...then, once I had stopped for a good period...
  22. Yes, to both(and its listed in my signature. As for the dh, it was a couple of days after it had broken out. From what I understand, it needs to be biopsied within a certain time-frame? Anyway, dermatologist was so interested in my case, she sent me a letter stating she wanted to explore further if it happened again. That was three years ago, and it hasn...
  23. Okay, I've been willingly gluten-free for 10 years. Last month, I mistakenly ate some crackers at a party that were not gluten-free (thinking they were), and I did not get sick like I normally do! In the past, all it has taken is a very small amount. I have discussed this recently with a few people, and one said "well, maybe you are 'over it'." which kind...
  24. Thanks, Shay- I appreciate your response. With the article by Dr. Scot Lewey in this weeks' celiac.com update, I can understand now what a can of worms this question has posed! (for those interested) https://www.celiac.com/articles/21628/1/Cel...tics/Page1.html Would you mind sharing what your neuro symptoms entail? While I discovered my disease...
