ARCHIVED Constipation. Anyone Want To Give Me Some Advice?
HumanDecency replied to lexibrowning's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Prune juice can't hurt. Make sure you try gluten-free certified oats if you do make the oatmeal. Hopefully someone has a better idea. A change in diet will probably be the best idea. Google it? -
Yeah, I probably am. I try to avoid the major triggers... but I'm sure I still get a bit of onion and tomatoes, etc. I'm working towards a more alkaline diet. I'm just not a very good chef... so the learning process is difficult. The girlfriend cooks more but she is still learning also. She just decided to go gluten free with me to see how hard it is and...

ARCHIVED Three Days In And First Accidental Glutening
HumanDecency replied to laura1959's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Possible that you have another food sensitivity as well? I know I have a really rough time with alternative pastas. I had the corn pasta from Trader Joes and basically had the same reaction with it that I would with gluten. CC on your utensils is also a possibility. Are you doing a food elimination? -
ARCHIVED Food Sensitivities And Healing
HumanDecency replied to HumanDecency's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've given up milk. At least about 99 percent. Sometimes if its a small ingredient I let it slide and do not seem to react. That's very infrequent. Coconut milk is better anyway. Hehe. But yeah I hope others chime in as well. -
Yeah. I've been trying to keep a diary but nothing consistent is standing out. I do have slightly low iron and low iron saturation. I've read that the symptoms can be similar. Also slightly low in vitamin d. I think the chest pain is gas. I get a lot of gas and burp all the time. I've been worked up and they say my heart and lungs are fine. What kind...

How long were you gluten free before the relief appeared? I realize it's different, but I am beginning to wonder if I'm getting CC'd somewhere. I just can't pin it down. I don't buy anything food wise (read the labels) I check all my condiments, medicines, toiletries... etc The only thing I can think of might be the dog food and I try to be extra careful...

So I hope this doesn't sound stupid. This brain fog is really inhibiting my common sense and logic. Do other food sensitivities stop the villa in the stomach from healing or do they just make you miserable while this process goes on? I'm still struggling through trying to find my sensitivities with an elimination diet and I have an appointment with integrated...

I take 30 mg of prevacid everyday (per doctor) Use an enzyme/probiotic after eating. Avoid acid causing foods - eat more stuff on the alkaline scale. Don't lay down for three hours after eating Raise the head of your bed 6 to 8 inches or sleep in a recliner. It's still a battle, but these things help. Take care, my friend.

Thanks. I've been gluten free for 3 months. Checking for CC, but don't see anything obvious. Hopefully it'll go away one of these days.

I developed a pain in the center of my chest today. Lots of burping and gas. Eventually this created a numbness in my jaw. The lower left hand corner. Of course all searches on this yield heart issues which is extremely scary. So I went to the doctor (urgent care) to get a formalized opinion because I couldn't reach my doctor and the urgent care was right...

So I got my recent blood tests back I was hoping you guys would help interpret them and if anyone has had similar results. I am talking to my doctor next week, but I was just sort of curious so I can go in with information. My iron is low: Component Standard Range Your Value Flag IRON 65 - 175 ug/dL 60 L TOTAL IRON BINDING 298 - 596 ug/dL 410 ...

So recently I have been experiencing a lot of weight loss. 10 lbs this month. I did gluten myself earlier in the month with vitamins but that has been a couple weeks away. Is weight loss a normal process of healing or should I be worried about contamination somewhere? Even though I have been pretty vigilant. Are there any warning signs of malnutrition? Or...

ARCHIVED Men's One A Day Vitamin Craves And Figs From Wholefoods
HumanDecency replied to HumanDecency's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found a new brand a meijer. There are no warnings and the only ingredients seem to be figs. I haven't reacted yet. So that's a good sign. I'll try those though, Mommida. Thanks for the suggestion. -
ARCHIVED I Don't Know What To Do Anymore!
HumanDecency replied to lovechild's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It really could be any of that stuff. I know I react to hemp seeds. Which is unfortunate because I love them and they are quite nutritious. I'm hoping it passes. I also react to corn. You may want to consider some form of elimination diet. I'm still progressing, but I had to eat salmon and green beans for dinner for a week to discover my corn reaction. ... -
ARCHIVED Men's One A Day Vitamin Craves And Figs From Wholefoods
HumanDecency replied to HumanDecency's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Not sure what is up with the figs. Under ingredients it just lists figs and a sugar coating. Underneath on another label it says "may contain traces of wheat, peanut, etc." My assumption is that these are processed in a facility using wheat on their lines but I can't find any information online. I was going to ask during my next trip to whole foods.... -
ARCHIVED Men's One A Day Vitamin Craves And Figs From Wholefoods
HumanDecency replied to HumanDecency's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh believe me, I do. And I even mentioned that in the original post. I hope you weren't trying to be snarky I even researched this and found other blogs talking about how they have gluten free and wheat written on some of the labels, but the company states these are considered gluten free because the what is refined. -
Are NOT gluten-free. Even though I was sure I scoured these labels before bringing them home. I feel defeated! I have been taken the vitamins for 2 weeks. Thank goodness I checked to see the b12 contents today and noticed WHEAT written under the nutritional statement. I must have grabbed the wrong package because I was sure I picked these up and they stated...

ARCHIVED Celiac And Arthritis?
HumanDecency replied to solarpower's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
How are all your other levels? Any abundant buildups or deficiencies? I seem to get a lot of inflammation as well. I can't offer much help though as I haven't completely narrowed it down. I know when I move around a lot I get stiff joints and pain but that goes away in a day or two. -
ARCHIVED Personal Labs Testing? Any Experience?
HumanDecency replied to HumanDecency's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I finally found a new doc who has agreed to do vitamin deficiency testing and a food allergy panel. I hope this at least helps a little bit because it has been a miserable last few months. I have been gluten-free for 3 months now. The first week was great but now the symptoms just keep cycling through. The most troubling aspect has been my pulse and heartbeat... -
ARCHIVED Personal Labs Testing? Any Experience?
HumanDecency replied to HumanDecency's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I plan on using my doctor if he will order them and doing it myself if he will not. My specialist has told me point blank that I do not need to order such tests and that I should stop being silly. I thought that was irresponsible and I found a new specialist. I just can't see him until August. I have a disease which impacts absorption and causes potential... -
ARCHIVED Personal Labs Testing? Any Experience?

Anyone have experience with something like this? Is it legit or a scam? Open Original Shared Link 595 bucks is a bit much to drop on an unscientific test. Thoughts within the group? Thanks, Jesse -
ARCHIVED Morning Versus Afternoon
HumanDecency replied to HumanDecency's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I find it so hard to articulate. Plus I"m dealing with what I consider to be anxiety, but none of my doctors seem to be too worried about it. It sometimes feels like something else is wrong and there is just this impacting sense of doom. I don't know, I think I feel mortal now. So when I do have an episode... it's hard to put into perspective. I just... -
Just curious: Is it normal to wake up feeling pretty good and then just deteriorate throughout the day? I'm trying to pin down if this is a normal progression of the illness, a symptom with my acid reflux or if I am glutening myself somehow. I do not believe it is the latter as I am pretty strict on cross contamination and the like. Although I may have...
