  1. Yeah, I wasn't really trying to experiment. I plan on waiting a while and having them each separately. Like you said, it's up in the air. I don't drink soda too often, but I have had a couple caffeine free coca cola's and did fine with those. I did drink the New Planet straight from the bottle, but he did touch it to open it. No telling if there could...
  2. So, I've been doing a lot better for the past several months - thanks to my doctors and a lot of you on the forum. That's a good thing. Last night I decided to be a bit brave at my weekly trivia game and I ordered a coke in a disposable cup. I haven't had a coke in quite a while because one of my symptoms that popped up around Celiac diagnosis was really...
  3. Depends on how long the product would last. I probably wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for 16 oz. I'm sure others would though. I just have a big issue with gluten free food being so expensive
  4. Shadowicewolf, was that pre or post recovery? Thanks! jesse
  5. So I think I am coming down with my first cold/flu as a celiac. Is there anything different I should know? Will this take longer to heal from? Is it particularly dangerous for us since we have a lowered immune system?
  6. So I need an idea for a recipe or maybe just some snacks that are gluten free. I'm going to play some cards with friends. There will be pizza and beer. It's usually a 5 hour game so I'll need something. Anything I could bring that would be easy to make and everyone could enjoy? I miss pizza and beer sometimes
  7. I'm with the rest of these posters and I think the depression goes a lot deeper than just food. I know that I have been having a rough time with Celiac and I don't much care about not getting to eat gluten. It's something we just learn to deal with. I go out with friends. I just sit there and drink water. It took a while to get used to and did cause some...
  8. I go through Quest and mine usually come back the same day/next day. However, it takes a few days for my doctor to get a hold of me and let me know the results. I think the total turn around time for my last batch of tests was 4 days. Edit: Let me clarify that it also depends on the test and the number of tests Quests gets in a day.
  9. Thanks, I will write that down and ask my doctor about it at a future appointment.
  10. Have you been tested lately? Where do your antibody levels currently stand? I've seen some people have symptoms for upwards of a couple years it just depends on how fast the body is healing. What does your doc say? I've found that exercise and breathing exercises work for me when I start to get really depressed. It's still there but I'm focusing my energy...
  11. I've had these tests and they all come back normal. Rats. No luck so far. This stuff is such a mystery.
  12. Any idea which tests that would be? I've had my thyroid checked but I don't know the ins and outs of all the tests.
  13. Sort of. I have a lot of anxiety and moodiness. But I had my thyroid tested and it came back normal. Really everything is normal except my Celiac antibodies, a tad lower than normal iron and low vitamin D. That and I'm cold all the time.
  14. I was just curious if someone could give me an idea of what is going on. I've been getting a stiff, maybe swollen, throat on the left side of my body. It goes from the jawline straight down and is right smack dab in the middle. It doesn't hurt really bad or impact anything... it's just strange. Anyone else experience this feeling? I told my doctor and...
  15. I'm with IrishHeart on the coconut milk. I really don't miss dairy all that much with coconut milk and daiya cheese. I'll go back to it someday but it's nothing I'm missing out on now. Hope you feel better soon!
  16. What does this stuff mean? Component Standard Range Your Value Flag GLIADIN AB, IGG <20 units 35 H (NOTE) Value Interpretation <20: Antibody not detected >=20: Antibody detected GLIADIN AB, IGA <20 units 33 H
  17. Thanks for the response. I'm a little more put together than last night. I guess I just don't understand this and am scared. I was going through my e-mail and I found this: The records from Dr Arlin show: 1)A markedly elevated T-Transglutaminase IgA AB (>100; normal ,<3)( this is an antibody against and enzyme in the small intestine that develops...
  18. Celiac friends, I really need some help here. I am flipping the hell out. I'm trying to calm down but I need some understanding. I just got my follow up test results back on the test noted above. T-TRANSGLUTAMINASE IGA AB <4 U/mL 45 H 45?? Can someone give me something to relate to here? I don't know what my...
  19. I definitely want to stray away from the medication. I don't even like taking the lanoprazole and daily multi for my acid reflux and deficiencies. This is just one of the most frustrating periods of my life. It's hard to articulate. I've attempted the elimination diets, but my doctors tell me to stray away from them for now. Luckily, I have a 6 month check...
  20. I've been having morbid thoughts lately and a lot of anxiety. Trying to stay in front of it... How do you guys control this? Medicine? Ride it out? Hot bathes? Any guidance is appreciated.
  21. I'm curious about your supplement routine. What did you take? What helped? I'm seeing a supp doc on Tuesday and want to prepare.
  22. Can they test for low gastric acid?
  23. I have the same issue. I believe it's a combination of my acid relux and sinus infections. We all have different symptoms. Karen could be on to something with the low levels. I have low iron and low vitamin D. My doc put me on lanoprazole for the GERD. It helps, but not all the way. So I'm taking further steps to see if alternatives will subside the problem...
  24. When was the last time you were tested for deficiencies? What does your result panel look like? I would cut out that junk. At least for a few more months and then slowly introduce it as you know you can tolerate it. I know it sucks and you probably want to get back to a normal life as soon as possible but it's hard to say what could be causing you problems...
  25. Just curious why you think it's way too early to be considering other tolerances? Dairy seems to happen right off the bat for some. I had corn and nuts off the bat myself. I'm just curious if there is some kind of logical thinking along these lines like giving the body actually time to heal while eliminating gluten? I guess I don't see why it would be wise...
