  1. Before my diagnosis I, too, was losing a lot of hair. I would have to clean my brush every couple of days. It took a good year of being gluten free for my hair loss to return to normal. Now, it seems to be back to normal or just slightly more than normal, but very manageable. I believe sometimes it just takes the body a while to heal and get adjusted...
  2. Can you give us the recipe for your glaze? I would like to have a glaze recipe. Thanks for the information!

    ARCHIVED Oprah Today

I agree with all the comments that have been posted above. I was watching the show and was so hopeful he would mention Celiac. I emailed Oprah's show the next day and asked if there was anyway they could get back in touch with that lady to have her get tested for Celiac. I described all the Celiac symptoms and that I was diagnosed with Celiac after a long...
  4. I was in downtown Chicago over the weekend and had great experiences at two restaurants downtown. I was surprised how many choices I had. We had dinner at Vinci's the first night. It is a small Italian restaurant. This was the most impressive gluten free meal I have had at a restaurant. I asked for a gluten free menu, and when we were seated they immediately...

    ARCHIVED Pf Changs

One way to tell the difference between the gluten free and regular lettuce wraps is the color. The gluten free lettuc wraps are much lighter in color than the regular lettuce wraps. Once you get used to recognizing this difference, you will feel comfortable knowing you are receiving the gluten free lettuce wraps. We eat there all the time and enjoy it...
  6. I was diagnosed with Celiac in September of 2006, but was very sick for a good six months before that. Along with the typical symptoms, I also had back pain like you describe. Prior to becoming very sick, I had always been very active and even worked out daily. The back pain was somewhat of a mystery. I went to physical therapy after my Celiac diagnosis...
  7. Hi, Please send a copy of your gluten free restaurant list to stacy@detroitspeed.com. I really miss being able to go out to restaurants. So far, the only one I have foud is PF Chang's. Thanks,
  8. I am newly diagnosed with celiac disease; however my symptoms have been going on for approximately six months. I never had back pain until the stomach and intestinal Celiac symptoms started. When those symptoms started, I suddenly started having terrible back pain. All of the doctors dismissed my back pain, but it has been excruciating. It feels like...

    ARCHIVED Lower Back Pain

I have just recently been diagnosed with Celiac and along with the typical symptoms, I have had terrible back pain also. I have never had back pain until the Celiac symptoms started. My doctor has keeps telling me that I must have hurt my back doing something. However, I keep telling him that I think it is related to the Celiac because it started at the...
  10. Thanks for the information. As I mentioned, this is new to me and I'm to learn everything I can. Thanks!
  11. I am newly diagnosed with Celiac and have back pain as a side effect of the Celiac. I am taking Darvocet for the back pain until they figure out the root cause of the back pain. Can anyone verify for me that Darvocet is gluten free? I have tried to ask the pharmacist but have not been able to get a definitive answer. Thanks!!
  12. Thank you for your response. I should have stated that during the diagnosis for Celiac, I had tests for my gallbladder, kidneys, liver, and abdomen.
  13. I am newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease. After just a week and a half of a gluten free diet, my stomach and intestinal symptoms are greatly improved. However, I have had mid-back pain throughout this whole ordeal and it has not improved at all since going gluten free. My back pain is constant and feels like it is from the inside out, doesn't hurt to move...
