  1. I think my blasto is back. The single dose of Tinidazole cleared up my diarrhea for a few days, now I have the rumbling stomach and fatigue again. It’s only been one week. I am wondering about alinia. Did you have side effects? It really worked??? I need to get my doctor to pay attention to this!
  2. Thank you for this. I think that may be the next drug if the Tinadazole doesn’t work. I really appreciate you sharing this.
  3. Wow thank you for posting this! Yousaid just what I needed to hear right now. I had to cancel my endoscopy this week because I’m just too sick and besides unless I had something like cancer what can it tell us? But clearly my parasite is back and flourishing and I have been prescribed two powerful drugs to try to knock it out. That prescription won’t be ...
  4. Thank you Kate. I know everyone wants a positive for sure diagnosis. I have not eaten gluten in any sizable amount in years. I just had the labs done again they are all negative. I am sure endoscopy would be too. However I’m a type one diabetic And the genetic testing I havd done for Celiac puts me at the very highest level of likelihood. I don’t know if ...
  5. My mind is racing. I have studied nutrition my entire life. I know about B1. Yet it never occurred to me or any doctor to test for it… except once ten years ago when the test came back very low. It was a shock then because I was taking at least some supplements. As I recall I had lost a huge amount of weight, couldn’t sleep, paced endlessly. I’m doing that ...
  6. I am hanging onto these words. I don’t know when I last had a trace amount of gluten but I suspect it’s been frequent. And now here I am powering back iron (120 mg a day), B12 and other things and feeling weak enough to be in a hospital. If this is celiac related I’m wondering how long before I start to turn around. I’m on my way to the store to pick...
  7. Thank you so much for this. I just browsed the study but am too wiped out to read it all right now. Bottom line, what do you take daily? How much of what? I am also a Type 1 diabetic, so I know thiamine is a factor.
  8. Thank you so much for the heads up! I do take a good B Vitamin, and my B12 shots have B1 in them... however I cannot say I've been faithful. I also have Benfotiamine. I will take some today and keep on taking! I REALLY appreciate this information!
  9. I am about to turn 69, spent the last four years rock climbing in the desert, and suddenly am very very sick. I rapidly lost 20 pounds, and my iron/ferritin levels plummeted from 100 a month ago to 30 today. I've been unable to sleep... in fact, the nervous symptoms are worse than the physical ones. Celiac was the last thing on my mind because I was thinking...
  10. Dana... Sorry... I didn't read my original post, so I just realized I repeated myself alot. I wanted to say "ditto" on the phlem and post nasal drip (suffering from that right now, in fact.) I should add that my doctor emphasized getting my Vitamin D levels up much higher, and repopulating the gut with probiotics. This hasn't worked out so well...
  11. Wow, Dana! I hate to be joyful finding another person who is suffering... but how very nice to know someone out there has some similar symptoms! Please feel free to email me at Open Original Shared Link, and we can exchange phone numbers if you like. I also have been belching/burping continuously, all day long... and never have done this before. And...
  12. Thank you so much! I guess part of the dilemma from here is that my doctors are thinking this is "depression". My question has been...ok, do depressed people lose weight even while they are eating? If so... then that may fit. No point in keeping a log of all the food I'm eating if depression causes weight loss regardless. But I am really wondering...
  13. I'm wondering if anyone out there has an understanding of weight loss when it comes to gluten intolerance. I'm still trying to figure out if GI or Celiac is my problem. (Or maybe it's time for me to wave the white flag and go get some antidepressants.) In the last two months I have lost 20 pounds. It's true, I've been through a big life trauma (my...
  14. Hi... thanks for your response! The GI doc ran three tests: 1) Endomysial Antibody IgA - Negative 2) t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA <2 (range 0-3 = negative) 3) Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 130 (range 91-414) Other than that, my MRI came back negative. I am still belching, burping, and losing weight--and feeling weak and depressed. All...
  15. I'm new here, and happy to be reading all the posts. I'm in the midst of a personal storm, both physical and emotional. I lost my son four months ago... and that should explain all my symptoms, especially the emotional. Except, my symptoms look more like celiac or gluten intolerance. I should mention that I am a Type 1 (insulin dependent) Diabetic. ...
