  1. Thanks for the update on Evie and Patti! I PM'd you my email address.
  2. Actually I couldn't lift anything for 2-3 months afterwards. I reminded her that not just the outside is stitched, but the inside is stitched as well, so any pushing/pulling/lifting is going to put a strain on it all. I wonder how long she will be in the hospital...I stayed in 4 days and they almost didn't let me go then, lol. Um, you have to pass...
  3. Hysterectomy due to large fibroids.
  4. I think I was in recovery for a while. I can't remember exactly how long, but maybe a couple of hours. For my surgery in January I was in recovery for at least 4 hours, lol, but that was because my room wasn't ready...no one told my mom, so the poor thing was really worried that something went terribly wrong. They finally let her come into the recovery...
  5. Yep, this is what my mom and I were talking about...great way to get in a little exercise but be really careful about breakables. I actually think I'd LOVE this if it had a tennis game, or bowling, or dancing or something like that. Can't justify buying it for only 1 or 2 games though. Course, I somehow justified buying 250 exercise videos, so maybe...
  6. It really wasn't that bad...at least the rotation diet I did wasn't, but the first one I tried was just meat and veggies and it got really boring--one reason why I think I'm so burned out on veggies. I love veggies, but I just stare at them in my freezer (and not in a good way), lol. The worst thing about the anti-candida rotation diet was that on one of...
  7. I sometimes eat them. It depends on the food really, but if it's minimally processed I'll definitely give it a try. If it's something that's highly processed, I'm likely to not chance it. I just figure that the more it is processed the more it comes into contact with the possibly contaminated production lines, etc.
  8. Yep, I just got back from Disneyworld in Orlando...we stayed at one of the Disney property hotels which didn't have a restaurant, but DID have a food court. I was a bit nervous to eat there, but figured I'd just get a hamburger patty. On the first night there, I ordered the patty, and she asked if I wanted french fries to which I replied "are they made...
  9. Yay!!! Did he mention how long it took...she asked me that and I thought I remembered mine taking about 3 or 4 hours.
  10. I AM, I AM!!! After feeling near death the last two weeks, I now feel almost normal, which is still not great, but at least it's normal, lol.
  11. I will, although it may be much later in the day. My appointment is at 10:00, but right after I'm done I'm going to my mom's house cuz my uncle and his family are coming. We don't see them often (they live in GILROY for pete's sake (about a 35 minute drive, lol)...anyway, I'm anxious to see them, PLUS they may bring their new Nintendo Wii...which should...
  12. Hi Rinne, glad you are feeling better. Susie, it was funny cuz I didn't notice any cravings when I first started the elimination diet--like for two weeks, but after adding a few things in and having gone on vacation, I am now craving sweets big time. Almost anything sweet will do, but would really LOVE some chocolate, lol. I know I've been WAY overeating...
  13. I wouldn't do Quaker just because of cross-contamination issues. If you want to try oats, try the *real* Irish type oats, but just be forwarned that many people have a reaction to oats because I believe the structure of the protein is similar enough to gluten. (Could be wrong about that last half of the sentence though.)
  14. I went on a cruise, so ate mostly on the ship. We had a shore excursion planned for Grand Cayman, but that got cancelled, so mainly we just walked around the port area then went back to the ship to eat. So, sorry but can't help on hotels or good places to eat. The up side is that we had a great time, lol.
  15. Have a speedy recovery and get lots of rest!!!
  16. Ryan, great that you've been cleared! I'll bet DW will clear too, lol. I PM'd my good wishes to Patti yesterday, but I'll send them along today as well! Rachel, okay, I'm even more excited about the BioSET thing now, lol. I can hardly wait until Saturday. I MUST remember to take all my supplements...don't know if they have a glass big enough...
  17. Hum, water bottle...glass wouldn't be very portable if you're like me and dropping things all the time, lol. I use a hard clear plastic sports bottle, and generally only use it on choir nights, so the water isn't sitting in there a really long time. I have a water pitcher by my desk at work and just pour into a glass.
  18. I had coconut yesterday...I have never had a problem with it that I noticed before, but maybe because I haven't had any in a long time. I also had some white tea with vanilla in it, hum, maybe I should double check the ingredients to see what kind of vanilla.
  19. Yep, it's hard to follow the diet when others are eating really good stuff, lol. Chocolate is supposed to be on the last things added back on the info that my doctor gave me, but heck, I can't even get past the first couple...I may never see chocolate. That's cute, lol!
  20. Good luck Ryan!!! Rachel - I'm excited for you to go through the foods just to see what it says, lol.

    ARCHIVED Mercury!

My doctor has me taking pectasol which is citrus (I think) pectin...she wants me to take it for a few days around each of my removals. I'll look for apple pectin as well. Anyway, she said it actually binds with any mercury that's being released by the removal to keep it from finding it's way into surrounding tissue.
  22. Hello and welcome! You're right, even my doctor told me that diet is a valid indicator.

    ARCHIVED Mercury!

Hi all, I've been following this discussion with interest since I'm in the process of having my amalgams removed. I've had half my mouth done so far, and next week will do the third section. My dentist follows good protocol, but I don't know if he does the chelation too. I'm interested to see if this relieves any of my remaining symptoms, some of which...
  24. Miamia - good luck at the appointment today!! Rachel - I have to get up at 4:00 too, although I'm trying an experiment this week to see if I can sleep until 4:30, lol. Not working so far. Hum, I don't know about the subtitle thing...I'll think on it.
  25. Hi there...I am not really intolerant to the grapes I think, but they do sometimes give me problems, so I tend to not have them frequently. But, something I ate this weekend puffed my tummy up! Can't really figure out what.
