    Just got back from a lovely lunch at my girlfriend's....four of us get together every couple of months. This time we met at her big place, and for the hell of it, brought our dogs. OMG...Gus and Elsie were hilarious with two puppies and a little cairn terrier. And we had a fair amount of champagne.....it's now, what....almost 3 pm? And we climbed...

Canada Day on July 1st, then off to the States for July 4th parties and parades.....a week of riotous debauchery and celebratory splendour. And a good deal of fireworks, I should think...... I find it agonizing and torturous to deliberately misspell words, even in the name of good humour. Very ridiculous, and I hope this is a character quality that can eventually be tweaked. Speaking of backyards and water, I think we're going to go ahead and have a hot tub put in....rather $$$, but DH and I are now entrenched in our forties, with muscles and tendons that just don't shake off long runs like they used to. Man, I guess I should be treating my dad more like this....putting him beside the fireplace, cooking really healthy meals for him, letting the neighboUrs in to visit more.... ...After all, he is about 15 in dog years....... Mygawd.....speaking of my dad, HE is on new joint supplements, as well........
