  1. I had a lot of pain to in my joints and yes potatoes don't help it.  What did help me almost instantly was I started taking different vitamins mainly cause mine were not t gluten free and they didn't seem to be doing anything. switched to nature made  SUPER B COMPLEX Your vitamin b's work as natural pain relievers, muscle relaxers, anti-depressants and so on.  also I take Vit d and magnesium.  I quit taking calcium cause I heard its hard on the digestive tract and can cause more joint pain and I get plenty of calcium in my diet naturally.  Hope the Vit. b's help. I was amazed how fast they work for me and my energy level is unreal.  Im going on 50 and feel like 30,. I also take a glucosamine.  Iv'e been gluten-free for 5 weeks now and feel amazing.

  2. It's not a placebo and I have a story for you.  I tried it several years ago because I have bone spurs in my lower back and arthritis in my wrist, knee, ankles  and shoulders  due to upholstery work. I never  hurt so bad before taking it.  After a few weeks I stopped and all the pain went away.  Well I found out I was allergic to shell fish and that is what it is made from so all my joints swelled with pain. Then I found glucosamine at the health food store that was made from vegies. and I love it.  I take it everyday and have been for years now and it is gluten free.

  3. I recently switched to olay age defiying daily moisturizer and its light and not greasy. also I use olay revitalizing foaming cleanser 7 effects. I was using loreal stuff for years and some kinda deep pore scrub. I became sensitive to the retinal -a they put in a lot of these products. I also use infalliable makeup by loreal and it never makes me break out, itch, or anything. they all work very well together. I'm nearing 50 in a month and it makes me look 40. I get compliments all the time. Hope this helps. Also I don't eat fried foods or drink soda.

  4. I don't even even crave anything thing with gluten anymore in fact I fear it. I think the trick is to find something else you love that is satisfying. For treats I have on occasion Andy's frozen custard hot fudge sundae and what I did last week was find the most awesome delicious dark chocolate cake King Arthurs brand {very moist} even my kids loved it and they are not gluten free. I used betty crocker frosting. I think all the b.c. frostings are gluten free and soy free. If you like corn chips, Fritos reg. are gluten free. You just have to explore.

  5. I was just wondering what they put back in you after removing the plasma. I also wondered if that's what I reacted to. A few years ago I donated plasma. I was border line with the weight and blood pressure, but they let me. Low weight and blood pressure. When they was returning the blood to my body with whatever it is they add to keep blood from clogging, I became very dizzy. I felt like I was going to fall off the table and when I tried to alert a worker I was too out of it and nearly blacked out. I felt like I was losing consciousness and that I would surely be going to the hospital. I don't know how I pulled through it but I did. It wasn't a panic attack and it wasn't my first time. It was my third. If your not in perfect health, I would not recommend it. If I would have went to the hospital, my bill would probably been at least 20 times what I would have made. If you don't complete the process, you don't get paid either.

  6. I cannot tolerate any scented candles. If I go to someone's house and they are burning one, I cough and gag and have to go outside to breath. My friends now know better. I have trouble even walking past the Yankee Stink Store at the Mall. I run past it and get as far away as possible. I could not even tell you what stores are on either side.....I could never go in them..... ohmy.gif

I have always been very sensitive to sented candles. I am the same way at the yankee candle store. I also can't stand to walk down the isle of cleaning products in the grocery store. After using carpet fresh I would get head aches. Now I work in a smaller than factory [shop] where I am exposed to paint fumes, glue fumes, carbon monoxide fumes, and fiberglass fumes from the liquid in a can on a weekly bases, sometimes daily. The sad part is I am just there to make patterns and sew seats. I love what I do but I hate the environment, its making sick.
  7. sorry my spelling is bad. isn't penicillin made from mold off of bread. I have always been allergic to it. Also the refridgerator at work is so bad that I started bringing my lunch in a lunch bag with ice packs and keep it at my station. The smell from the fridge could knock you over. it never gets cleaned and usually its full of sandwiches and things that are months old. Any chance of cross contamination?

  8. I will make a list of hidden gluten ingredients and keep it with me. Making my own cakes sounds great. I have noticed how expensive gluten-free foods can be when they are made for you. I like eating nuts but in moderation. They put weight on me so fast. I am not sure I want to be tested. 1] I don't ever want to be sick again. 2] I plan on staying gluten-free for life particularly because I like the food choices better. I have always been kind of a health nut. 3] I don't have any insurance. I used to have impossible periods or you might say period. It kept getting worse and never stopped. I ended up in urgent care before I made it to my appointment with a specialist. They ran every test possible and still found nothing. I had an endometrial ablation and that last for almost 4 years then it all came back. Now I'm taking birth control pills. I'm hoping after months of being gluten free , I will be able to stop taking them. I remember when I would eat out and have a large whole wheat chicken sandwich I would always start my period within 2 hours. I thought it was soy in the bread because soy is in almost all gluten products. Thanks for the advice. It is much appreciated

  9. Yes I have. I didn't realize it was another symptom I was having. When I was off work for Christmas break and new years I was home alone and didn't seem to care how loud I was swearing because no one was there. I was so angry and shouldn't have been. I was so loud the neighbors called the law and they came rushing to help me. They were sure someone was with me trying to kill me or something. They searched my apartment and then gave me some phone numbers for help hotlines. I laid in bed and cried for 2 days after that and I was still angry. since I have been gluten free I have noticed that I am much calmer and patient. I just now realized too that I cant remember the last time I was swearing. Thank you.

  10. I never really knew what was wrong with me, but I always knew I didn't like a lot of foods. Some I didn't like because I had strange reactions to them. I have not been diagnosed but the change in my diet is amazing. I just changed my vitamins and wow, its like they work. My aches and pains have improved. my energy level is back to normal. Im trying very hard to learn every food that gluten is hidden in or even cross contaminated. I have been glutened twice since I went gluten free. I have been having issues with constipation although I drink prune juice and eat prunes. I just tried eating an avocado and that really seemed to help. Does anyone have suggestions for brand foods that are pure and or better and what not to buy? I'm tired of buying foods that I have to give away.I am 50yrs old and have arthritis as well. I'm currently taking birth control pills because my period has amnesia, it can't remember to stop. Hopefully in time I won't need those either. I haven't eaten out since and I'm scared to. Lucky for me, I haven't suffered from the vomiting or diarrhea. Im sure it has a lot to do with the bland diet I have been on for years [ rice, kidney beans, pure pumkin puree, ect.] that got boring and I started eating a lot of junk food- none which was gluten free. I had symptons like mouth sores, burning throat, nausea, tiredness, excessive gas all the time, migrains all the time, bad periods even while on the pill, depression, insomnia and I think that's everything.
