  1. No it's not silly, I know the hardest thing for us is what the heck do we eat and a lot of the protein bars and shakes are not safe for celiacs. Keep it simple and stick with Whole Foods! So you got it, Oats, Rice, Sweet Potatoes or various kinds of potatoes. I personally like fingerling multi colored potatoes with eggs! Also, if you like any specific veggies...
  2. It sounds to me you may be lacking in carbohydrates, which is what fuels your body for working out. This is just me as an example based off my body, I eat 40-50grams of carbs pre training, if it's a really intense workout I will drink a small portion of my pure carb drink vitargo intra training and then post training a protein shake which has minimal carbs...
  3. I looooove Rice Dream, but my digestion hates it so I've switched to Almond milk although that's not perfect with my digestion either ? It's not a Celiac reaction, more like a sensitivity which I've heard from multiple people about rice milk. Hope you find one that's ok for you! If so please share, I may give it a try ? -Cristina
  4. Sounds like your on the right track Lacey!! Hope it all goes well, you definitely have people who understand here
  5. Hi Lacy! Your concerns are definitely valid as stress is a big contributor to how we feel with our disease. You sound very similar to how I was feeling, so let me share my story with you... I used to work a very stressful job, and during this time I was diagnosed with 4 autoimmune conditions, multiple nutrition deficiencies and got sick with colds/flu...
  6. Oh my ? My advice to you is request for all your medical records from the current Doc and take them to a new Doctor to continue your investigation. One that is more knowledgeable and organized, where the nurse and Physician are unified in what there saying to you ?? I am a huge advocate to finding the right Doctor for you, even though it may be a sacrifice...
  7. Hi Sarah, Welcome to the community! I agree with GFinDC, I would return to eating gluten until your able to get testing done for Celiac. If you are going through withdrawal symptoms you don't want to have to go through that twice if you end up being intolerant I had horrible withdrawal symptoms when getting off gluten from brain fog, bad headaches to feeling...
  8. Your welcome! Send an update on how your feeling, hopefully better!
  9. That's great to know your doing better and feeling stronger! Keep at it and reach those goals! Of course, there will be ups and downs but just be prepared for them and know that you will get back to feeling good again
  10. Hi WS, So sorry to hear your not feeling quite right just yet. I can relate! I believe in doing whatever is needed for you to be able to come to terms with the diagnosis, which it sounds like was given to you already but if you still need further evidence then do whatever is needed! In regards to food, I am a pescatarian so I also don't eat meat but...
  11. I totally understand the frustration of finding foods to eat, it's taken me awhile to fine tune that which is why I tend to eat the same things over and over as a safety net. Especially for someone like you who is looking to maintain your food intake is that much more important. You can definitely get your strength back, just be patient and listen to your...
  12. As a fellow exercise enthusiast\trainer I know the difficulty of wanting to push it in the gym but just not having it in you. I'm a Weightlifter myself, and it's that much harder for me to put on muscle and gain strength then the typical athlete but I am quite determined to not let Celiac get me down on that Here are a few things nutrition wise I make sure...
  13. I absolutely can empathize with the anxiety...your not alone! I've even thought maybe I should seek guidance on how to minimize the anxiety from Celiac...I am so unbelievably terrified of being glutened that it effects so many things. I understand the family bringing gluten into your home as mine does the same as well as many of the guests we have staying...
