  1. Thanks so much for the links! I dont believe you did. I'm pretty lucky because I enjoy cooking so I have no problem cooking for myself. The only thing that I do mind is that I have to be so careful about CC. I live with 2 roommates who are obviously not gluten-free and I dont want to burden them with making sure everything is super clean in the kitchen. I...
  2. Lmao! That made me lol because I totally never thought this as an option when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I knew what it was but never looked further into it (silly me). Yes, I am in college but I live off campus with friends so I do have a kitchen (which helps a lot). I do think they could teach me about what foods are good to eat...
  3. Hey guys! I got my official diagnosis today. I'm finally glad to start the healing process and feel better again. I was wondering if any of you were referred to a nutritionist after your diagnosis? They said based on my villi they think there is a good chance I'm malnourished and they did a lot of blood work and are referring me to a nutritionist. I'd assume...
  4. Thanks so much! I took your advice and took cashews and almonds as my snack today to have in between classes. I do love sunflower and pumpkin seeds so Im going to get some. I should try the hemp too!
  5. Thanks for all the replies!
  6. Wow, that sounds tough. Sorry to hear, but you sound like you manage well. Yeah that's crazy! We eat way too much sugar! I've been watching a lot of documentaries on food too and they all talk about how horrendous sugar is for you that's why I just wanted to make sure I watch my sugar intake. I like to snack on fruit as my go to snack now so I think that...
  7. Yes I bought some chia I'll have to try them in a smoothie. I made a pudding with them the first time and I didn't particularly care for it but I want to keep trying it. I did also get some nuts and I'll have to try the seeds. Haha this may be TMI but with all that fiber how is your BM lol. I have a really hard time going and take a fiber supplement. So seeds...
  8. thanks for the advice. Maybe I should just focus on healing first and the diet later.
  9. Haha! looks yummy! Yes you are definitely right about the juice, soda, etc. I don't drink those anyway.
  10. Hi guys. So I've been trying to adjust to my new diet but I've also been trying to watch my weight. I noticed lately that I'm having a lot of fresh fruits and veggies which is great but I notice my sugar intake is really high (98% which are natural sugars). I find it hard to know what types of snacks to have and meals that don't have a lot of sugar. Even...
  11. Did you happen to experience a really bad headache the first couple days not eating gluten. I'd assume that cutting out all the gluten and processed stuff from my diet is probably causing these headaches.
  12. Hi guys! So yesterday was my endoscopy and today I'm starting my gluten free diet. I haven't gotten the official diagnosis yet but I figure it's for the better in general to start eating fresh non processed food which are naturally gluten free. I am wondering how long after starting your gluten free diets did you start to feel better? I'm feeling very sick...
  13. Yes it is! 10-12 days they said. I hope Thats what mine is like. I really dont want to be left again with no answers as to why Im so sick.
  14. Hey guys so I had the endoscopy today. When my doctor was going into it he made it sound like all of a sudden he didnt think I had celiacs. He said my antigen levels were elevated but not super high. When I woke up he told me that he didnt see anything that indicated celiacs with the naked eye. So he took like 5-6 biopsies and he will see how those look...

  16. Hmm so it seems like everyone has a different experience. I guess ill find out tomorrow lol.
  17. Thanks for the info!! I live in suffolk!
  18. Okayy so it is like real anethesia? I know sometimes with colonoscopys they do like a light sedation. I was kinda hoping for that. Haha I always cry from anesthesia.. just a weird reaction I have. This should be a breeze though Im not too worried.. I've had two other major surgeries this year. Hopefully with this diagnosis I can make changes to my diet and...
  19. Hi guys, tomorrow is my endoscopy what should I expect? They didnt really tell me. Do they fully sedate you or is it more like a twilight zone? How long does it take? How long will I feel loopy after? Thanks!
  20. Thanks everyone for the advice and info! I've never really considered joining a support group before but its pretty cool to get intouch with people who understand what you're experiencing. For years everyone would just tell me I was a hypochondriac but after I learned that I might have this disease and researching it these are all the symptoms I've been...
  21. They unfortunately closed so I will have to call back tomorrow. What if they say they aren't doing a biopsy, what do I do? My mom is traveling from far away to come with me so I cant really reschedule.
  22. Hahah yes. I took all my spring break as time to eat/try all the food I wont be able to have. It was worth the pain I think =b.. but I'm perfectly happy to get rid of it and get healthy. =]
  23. Yes, I plan on going gluten free regardless of what the biopsy said because my doctor said there could be a chance I'm gluten intolerant. I was feeling anxious about what my lab results said because they didn't fully explain them to me so I actually called them today and they said my Ig-A was very high. But as I was hanging up the phone and confirming my...
  24. Thanks for the reply. Yes I have been eating it everyday since they said it was a possibility but I hope its enough because I do prefer to eat fresh stuff. Like for example today I ate mainly gluten free stuff (as I normally do) but I had pasta to make sure I got something with gluten. Also do you know how long it takes for the biopsy to come back? Can they...
  25. Hello everyone! I am new to this so bare with me if I mess something up I've never posted on a forum. So on Friday I will be getting a biopsy done to confirm celiac disease. I'm wondering if I had a positive blood test what are the chances that the biopsy will come back positive showing blunted villi. I know its hard to say if you aren't a doctor but I'm...
