  1. Well, carriefaith's answers just blew mine out of the water! I will have to try some of them myself, so thanks. This is what I eat almost every morning. It is easy and there is no cooking. Every sunday I hard boil a bunch of eggs for the week. - 3 hard boiled egg whites - bannanna - O.J. It's not too exciting but it gets the job done and it...
  2. Bonnie, I am the same way...wake up in the morning feeling good b/c my stomach is flat then it immediately bloats up once I eat, even gluten-free food. Since I am new at this and have only been gluten-free for 3 weeks I wondering...has the bloating gotten better for you since being gluten-free? Or, does the bloating only happen when you eat gluten?...
  3. Yeah, I saw that on TJ's gluten-free list too. I use to eat them all of the time before I knew about celiac. I think of all protein bars (not the candy bars they like to call protein bars) this one is one of the best. Most "real" protein bars taste like crap but this one is good. I guess that doesn't do much good since we can't eat them (well, actually...
  4. Moongirl, Me too. While I am not as petite as you, I look pregnant. Does your bloating come and go or (before you went gluten-free) were you always bloated?
  5. I was just thinking...what is everyone's most annoying symptom/side effect of celiac? (fatigue, bloating, C, D, etc). I was just wondering if other people were just as annoyed with their bloating as me.
  6. I went there a couple of weeks ago. I got the salmon and it was pretty good. I guess I get really tired of salmon though. Our waitress said the salad is gluten-free. However, she still put croutons in it. I decided not to eat it mainly b/c there were croutons in it. Our waitress was really willing to help and she seemed pretty confident that the salad...
  7. Hum? I never really thought of it as something actaully wrong, just annoying. I WebMd'd cystitis and I am not sure if I match the majority of the symptoms except the feeling to urinate. I think I will definately talk to the dr. Jenvan, do you know anyone who has this (cystits)? Is it related to celiac? I do think Viola might have a point about stress...
  8. I am the same way with meatloaf being a comfort food. My mom used to make it all the time growing up. I made it the other night gluten-free and it was pretty good but not as good as regular meatloaf. The biggest difference about was the texture. This is what I did: - 1lb hamburger - ketchup (I don't have amounts, i just add enough until I think the...
  9. I seriously laughed out loud when i read that!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Viola, Your last line is hilarious. I guess I will have to come to terms with it. No burning, blood, or such I just feel like I have to go but I can't. Maybe I will bring it up to my dr when I see him in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the help.
  11. When I am really bloated I feel like I have to urinate but when I try to go nothing happens. This happens to me all of the time especially when I working out. Anyone relate? I guess this is just a factor of being bloated and the pressure on your bladder. Also, please look the thread "Blood test-which number is most important?", I posted the results...
  12. Yeah, sounds like you have to be tough to get yourself better. ? Go figure. I have the results in front of me and here they are: IGA, Serum - 180 mg/dl Gliadin AB (IGA) - 3u/ml, where <11 is negative Tissue Transglutaminase AB IGA - <3, where <5 is negative That's it! Is that the full panel? Do I need more tests done? They said...

    ARCHIVED Hydroxycut

I am not sure if they are gluten-free but have you tried them? I have always been skeptical of them b/c I was afraid once you used them and lost weight, you would gain the weight back the second you got off them. if you have tried them, was this your experience?
  14. Thanks for everyone's responses. It is good to know what everyone else has been through and the things you have tried since it seems that you are pretty much your own doctor with Celiac. Actaully, it seems that we are more like each other's doctors This message board has been more informative and helpful than all of my doctors combined. You guys will...
  15. After fighting with my dr to get my own blood work results and being hung up on (I guess they weren't happy with me calling them and bothering them everyday), I got my results. I do not have them in front of me so I am not sure of all of the details (my husband told them to me over the phone, which is a little difficult to do). However, I think they did...
  16. March - page 172.
  17. I have a copy of this months Self magazine (don't have a digital link to the article) that contains a chart talking about commonly misdiagnosed diseases/conditions. It lists Celiac and how it is commonly misdiagnosed as IBS. I have to give it to this magazine b/c these are some quotes from the article: - "Many docs think Celiac disease is a rare pediatric...
  18. Has anyone ever had negative results on their blood test and entero lab results but still find the gluten-free diet alleviated their symptoms? I am asking this b/c: Currently, my blood work came back negative and I am contimplating getting the Entereo Lab test. I am wondering if the stool test came back negative, just how discouraged I should be...
  19. Yah know it has been a big headeache trying to get my blood work results from my dr too. All they did was call and leave a message on my machine that my results were negative. I have called their office at least 5 times asking them to fax me the resutls. I have yet to hear anything. I have also asked them to fax the results to my GI specialist...they...
  20. I want to do this as well. How do I contact Scott? Where do I find Admin?
  21. Sandyo, I am in the same boat as you...negative blood tests and I have just begun the gluten-free diet. I have only been gluten-free for 3 days but there has been absolutetly no improvement. I know it takes a while so I shouldn't really be expecting results so soon but it's hard not to get too excited. Let me know how it goes for you and I will...
  22. Thanks for everyone's responses. It seems like the majority of people haven't had very good experiences. I think I still might request a gluten-free meal but will definately pack my own food.
  23. I called today to have the results faxed to me and they said they would have to see and they will call me back. They said I will probably have to come pick up the results. I guess I could just have them tell them to me over the phone. Kinda frustrating though. Well, I am glad to hear that people with negative blood work felt better after going gluten...
  24. Well, last week my dr ordered a full panel celiac blood test and my dr left a message on my machine today saying the results are negative. I am VERY frustrated b/c I want to be able to put a finger on the thing that is causing me to feel so bad. I feel like I am a square one again. I am going to ask the dr to fax me my results so I can see...
  25. Thanks floridanative. From what I have been reading on this site it seems that the diet is the best way to be dx'd. For the past week I have not tried to exclude all gluten from my diet just the major sources that I know contained gluten (bread, etc). I don't want to completely exclude it until I hear back from my dr, but I dont want to continue poisoning...
