ARCHIVED Question About Alcohol
Sandyo replied to Clark Bent as Stupor-Man's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
So is Smirnoff Vodka gluten free? Or is Chopin the only gluten free vodka? -
I've been fighting this rash for about 2 years now. It came about a year before I realized I was gluten intolerant. It doesn't seem to be DH because it's never itched. It was biopsied as Grover's but being that I'm a 45 year old female that's pretty uncommon. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

ARCHIVED Symmetry? And Biopsy Location
Sandyo replied to SpikeMoore's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Can you explain why the biopsy should be beside the lesion and not the actual lesion itself? I've been fighting a rash for three years now and they biopsied the lesion and told me it was Grover's Disease. It used to not ich but it's starting to. It goes away if I take Acutane. I've been gluten free for 6 months, but I'm sure I not as strike as I should be... -

Sandyo posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was recently admitted to the hopsital for test on my heart because it was beating VERY hard and I was out of breath in very little exertion (and I'm a triathlete). They couldn't find anything wrong. But last night I was mixing up some cookies (with wheat flour) and my heart started doing it again and I was breathless just trying to mix the dough and eat... -
ARCHIVED Sprouted Grains
Sandyo posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've just heard that sprouted grains do not have gluten. Does anyone know if this is true. I thought they did...but don't understand all the details. I know this bread says "flourless" but I thought it still had gluten. Does anyone understand what "sprouted grains" means? -

ARCHIVED Helpfull Tips On How To Remember What Is And Isn't gluten-free, Please!
Sandyo replied to Sandyo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
It's probably because I haven't really found any "good" tasting gluten-free foods yet. He'll eat it if that's the only thing I make but he'll pick something with gluten over gluten-free anyday. But, it is very respectful to not eat some of the naturally gluten-free foods I have purchased if he knows that's all I have to eat. Overall, he's just a great husband... -

Sandyo replied to Sandyo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks everyone!! Some great ideas. I like the idea of keeping a list of the stuff I thought was gross!! I had a brownie mix first thing that was so bad!!! But then I had a chocolate cake that was very good. So I knew there was hope. I have adopted the shelf idea and my husband and son are very good about not eating "my stuff". I don't think I'm doing... -

What is the best way it remember all the foods that are gluten free and not gluten free. How do you all do it? I'm at the store and I can't remember if it's safe or not. Sandyo replied to ErraticBinxie's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm just beginning to sort out if I'm gluten intolerant. But speaking of rashes, I've had one in my scalp, forehead, checks, neck, chest and upper back that my Dermatologist doesn't know what it is. Thought it was acne and I tolk Acutane. It went away but came back as soon as I went off it. Of course I didn't know about gluten at the time. I've been gluten... -
ARCHIVED Strange Taste And Feeling In Mouth
Sandyo replied to Sandyo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It does have carmel coloring. I think I read on this forum that you have to watch that, right? How do we go about calling the company if there is no phone number on the product? Just google the company and get the number from their web site? Is that the easiest way? The feeling started to go away this afternoon....but after our run tonight we ate at... -
ARCHIVED Strange Taste And Feeling In Mouth
Sandyo posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I used some A-1 Steak House Marinade on my steaks last night. I read the ingredients and I didn't see anything that I knew of that showed that it contained gluten. But about an hour after eating it, I got the strangest taste in my mouth. Kinda like cotton mouth or like it had been slightly burned. Very sensitive and my tonuge feels swollen. I still have that... -
Ditto on that! I had that last Saturday and no problems. They even deducted the bisquit and hashbrowns off the price.

ARCHIVED Stools Changes After Not Eating Gluten
Sandyo replied to Sandyo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I do find that strange...but people have told me that it will take a while our bodies to get acustom to the change. My doc said it mean excess air or fat in the stool and it wasn't a big deal. It doesn't mean malabsorption. I don't know what to think. The whole reason I started to look into this was because after being contipated for sooooo long, I figured... -
ARCHIVED Diddo On The Neg Test Results
Sandyo replied to Sandyo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Is it either high or not high or are there levels like Colesteral testing? Thanks, I will get a copy tomorrow. My one doctor wouldn't even test me. He said go off gluten and if your symptoms go away then I'll test you. After reading just a few posts, I realized he had not idea what he was talking about. Thanks for your help!!!
