  1. One word from a former jogger, BE CAREFUL!!!! Running is one of the hardest forms of exercise on your body but it is one of the best for cardio but the worst for the body. This past winter I so wanted to lose the last of my weight I started running more on a treadmill. I was about 185 pounds. Then at night, my hips would hurt so bad that I could not sleep...
  2. I want the same thing. My hips and lower back are killing me today and the first thing I have did was to go and get one of my fitness balls and sit on them this morning and it did seem to help. I know that this would not be an option in my current position. I work on a small room with a couple of other people and the ball would be in the way to much and a...

Thanks for responding Robb. I know that the myoplex is not the best and I only have a couple of them left and will not be reordering them. Would the myoplex light be better then add my own carbs in the form of fruit? I was having them in the morning after my cardio workout and before work. I would go straight from riding bike to work and it worked well for...
  4. Robbin, I hear you on doing too much when you are feeling good. I have had a really good weekend exercising. I went for an hour long walk two days and a 12 mile bike ride and I am not really that stiff and sore. I have been making sure to go and stretch. I just have to get myself in the habit of doing a 20 minute yoga at night before bed. I have a problem...

  7. I am in the same boat as many of you. I lost about 75 pounds about 2 years ago then it stopped, I switched eating plans and that is when the celiac started. I have also overtrained about 6 months ago and caused some significant hip and lower back issues (darn running on the treadmill and I do not recommend it anymore). I had to stop all cardio till my hips...

One more thing, For those of you concerned about eating tuna, I have been eating the 6 oz packages of albacore (higher quality tuna) 5 days a week for about 3-4 years. I had heard about the mercury warnings so I had my doctor test by mercury levels and they were just fine. If you eat alot of tuna and are worried about elevated levels, have your doctor...

Hope you can help me and this is long. I should give a bit of history here. about 4 years ago I went back to college due to a shift change. At that time I was 28 and around 255-260 pounds and boy did I feel like a whale out of water being around all of those 20 year old, not having any children sticks. I decided I needed to do something about it, went...
  10. Once you are out of induction, I say you can have yogurt (no sugar added). In my area they make a really good low carb yogurt called Blue Bunny carb freedom. It tastes so good and has 5 carbs in 8oz. I would eat this even if I was not watching my carbs. Nicole
  11. Thanks for all of the info. With all of the talk about horrible doctors around I am so glad that I have two good ones. I was shocked when someone said that their doctor told them in was a child's disease. How horrible. I have come to terms with this. Nicole
  12. I did Atkins for 18 months and lost 75 pounds, then started to eat wheat carbs again then blam, it stopped and I got celiac disease. I could not give up my fruit while on Atkins. Strawberries, blueberries, honey dew melon, all the wonderful summer fruits I was not going to give up. I never overdid it though. If you are concerned about getting in more calories...
  13. Thanks for the reply. I am going to try the cookies this weekend (1/2 a batch though). I am trying to lose about 25 pounds so cookies are not really in the picture but I would like to try it. I am eating gluten free, the bloated feeling is for the birds and I do not want to do any damage. Nicole
  14. I am wondering if one can have gluten intolerance without having celiac disease? I had a blood test which showed slightly elevated levels of what ever they check for. I then had a biopsy which did not show any damage but my doctor still wanted me to be gluten free (I was already planning on it). I beleive that I did not show any damage because I have...
  15. Has anybody else gained before losing on a gluten free diet? I am getting so frustrated. I have gained about 7 pounds in the past couple of months and none of my pants are fitting anymore and I refuse to buy any new ones now that I know why I was getting bloated (I was about to start buying maternity pants for those days by stomach would swell). ...
  16. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my husband He is the most supportive, wonderful, patient caring person I know and I would be nothing without him. After being together for 16 years I still enjoy going out with him and my friends yelling at us to "get a room" I am somewhat grateful that I will never have to deal with my youngest running around in a...

  18. Okay, my turn. I hate that I will never hear my youngest daughter say I love You Mommy. I hate the fact that we will be faced with having her live somewhere else becasue we will not be able to physically or emotionally take care of her. I hate it when my cat comes and wants to be petted after I have turn off the lights and found a comfortable position...
  19. What a small world. I am in the Engineering Technology program and have 4 classes left after this semester. I will be done in December but this semester I have Physics and it is going to be the death of me. I know very very few people. I just do not have the time to participate in anything from Stout. I work full time at night (11pm to 7 am at Phillips) and...
