  1. No, I haven't had them yet. I'm wondering if Kristina is referring to the "Reese's Pieces"? I'll definitely check the packaging for ingredients, though, before I ever eat any.
  2. Well......some of McDonalds is gluten-free.......but apple pies aren't gluten-free, chicken nuggets aren't gluten-free, etc.
  3. Oh, I forgot to address your other questions..... First off, the best place to start is probably the Open Original Shared Link. There's a lot of good information there including mainstream gluten-free products (i.e. certain Oscar Mayer products) and ingredient lists, which should be the first thing you print: Open Original Shared Link. I should probably...
  4. Thanks....those were the ones I wanted to find out about the most -C
  5. My Symptoms were (in order of severity): cramping stomach, vomiting, bloating, gas, diarrhea, low weight.
  6. All I know is that it's gluten-free.......never used it, either, but a few on the board have mentioned that it's gluten-free.
  7. Try not to worry about growth. It might take a few months. Over the past six months I slowly went from 5' and 70 pounds to 5'2" 79 pounds (oh, btw, I am a 13 year-old boy). Over the past month, my previously continuous symptoms haven't appeared at all!! Additionally, I've gained 5 pounds in 3 weeks (now I'm 84)!!! It will come......try not to stress...
  8. I know........people don't realize what wheat is in and how restricted we are.....I've had people ask me if I can have many obvious gluten-containing foods: cookies, breads, cakes, etc. It's frustrating.
  9. Dixie Cups are made from some form of corn......corn starch, I guess. This topic came up in the group, USA Silly-Yaks and someone mentioned that a friend who has a corn allergy or something reacts to dixie cups.....anyway, I feel like there are already so many things we have to be careful of....so now for this to be a concern is even worse. And I know...
  10. Oh, here's the link to the article: https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=1032
  11. This is infuriating...I don't care if they say that they'd be safe because of a small layer of some other material........this is really annoying. Would they make a container out of peanut flour for those with a peanut allergy? I don't think so. And yet, we get pushed around with this wheat thing....
  12. Oops.....i accidentally made it post twice.....so i used the edit feature to get rid of the repeat article that was here....sorry.
  13. Hi, I have a quick question....I know that the regular-sized Reese's are gluten-free. How about the small ones? (the ones wrapped in orangy foil that are bite-sized).....thanks...oh, just out of interest, does anyone know about the other varieties? (white choc., inside out, etc.). Thanks -celiac3270
  14. Well, you don't believe her.....you know the diet better than any dietician. I went to a dietician a month or two in and I already knew more, so it was useless. Fortunately, I went to a good dietician who knows about celiac, but obviously, you can't trust someone who is so ignorant regarding celiac.
  15. Chicken broth can be VERY dangerous. That's why you can't necessarily eat rice at a party or in a cafeteria. If it's made with chicken broth, chances are, the broth contains gluten. There are gluten-free chicken broths, but be very careful about that.
  16. Glad to hear it went well I'll be thinking of you for your results monday.
  17. Gluten is a broad term for the protein. Although we always refer to gluten as the bad gluten (wheat, rye, barley, etc.), technically, there are safe glutens for us.
  18. Oh, okay....I thought that malt was automatically bad.
  19. I've had Genisoy and Atkins bars.........just want to fill everyone in on something that scared me about Atkins. I called the company about them and kept asking to make sure that the Cookies and Cream really was gluten-free. Well, there's no wheat in it, but the ingredient malt is clearly in the ingredients section.........I'll still eat the other gluten...
  20. I'm just terribly cautious...paranoid.......i avoid gluten as if accidentally ingestion would kill me.....therefore, I'm doing pretty well
  21. Good luck!!! Let us know the results I'll think about you. -celiac3270
  22. 1. Had celiac probably for years (4-7 years, I guess).....known for about 7 months 2. 14 in a few months.... 3. Real pizza...there is no replacement 4. More.....i don't really know...i don't pay the bills 5. Of course...but I never would've met anyone on the boards....I feel like I've made some good friends here and I feel good...
