  1. Celiacfreeman, I agree that Clan Thompson lists are great........crc0622, thanks for that list from Delphi.......also informative.......finally, I second what Richard said that you can't trust these lists......I do like them, though, cause they give you lists of products that might be gluten-free along with their phone numbers...............that makes it...
  2. I thought that Tums weren't gluten-free! I don't think they are
  3. I don't think peanut allergies have anything to do with celiac disease. They're common, but I don't think there's any correlation between peanut allergies and celiac disease.
  4. Cool.........all flavors, Richard, or just wintergreen?
  5. Response from Edys ice cream.........
  6. First I'll list my symptoms so you can compare: stomach pains, vomiting, nausea, gas, bloating, low weight, etc. Okay, now.......stomach pains are one of the classic and relatively common symptoms associated with celiac disease. Bloating, gas, etc. are probably even more common. I have never had this, but I've heard a few on this board that mention...
  7. It's not bad at all........I had one in February and I'm scheduled for another on September 13th.......my advice in dealing with it is not to look it up on the internet or anything.......it's not that big a deal and it can be scary to read the details in articles. When you have it, they do one of two things: drug you so that you are somewhat out of it, but...

    ARCHIVED Celiac Runners

Definitely better to stick to the diet religiously than to cheat.......NEVER cheat......even a few crumbs could throw your intestines off for weeks, regardless of whether you feel it or not. I run a bit, but not enough to consider myself qualified for this topic. I've found that my only problem is that after starting the diet, I tried not to run so maybe...
  9. When will symptoms end? Well, there are those lucky people who get miraculously better in less than a month. Every celiac's body is different so there's no set time, but on average, I'd say it can take a few months. I've been gluten-free for six months and I'm definitely not feeling better. There are numerous people on the board who don't feel better...
  10. Yes.....potatoes are okay.....I eat them all the time....they're fresh produce so there isn't any junk being added to them.........where did you hear that?
  11. I concur . Pre-diagnosis I ate a bagel every morning for breakfast.........for about four years with only very occasional breaks for french toast or some other gluteny breakfast. You'll miss your old food at first, especially while you're in the trial and error stage, trying new things and you experience some really---gross food. Anyway, looking at a...
  12. Those are great suggestions, Tiffany. Your suggestion of not spending more than half an hour in bed trying to fall asleep is a good one. I find that on those nights that I can't fall asleep, I get more and more agitated lying there and watching the clock than I would if I got up, posted for half an hour and went back to bed.....although I think forty...
  13. LOL......that's rather funny and ironic, Peg.
  14. No problem .......I find that I pick up new or unfamiliar technological things really quickly (I think it's cause I've grown up with it), but my mom has tried to read the message boards at times, is confused how to get around, etc. I have tried to show her a bit, but since she doesn't have celiac disease personally and I'm here picking up new things, she...
  15. You mean, to see every post you made? Okay, you can see every post made by any member you choose if you do the following: - Click their username: so, on the side of your post where they show your name, number of posts, join date, member #, etc., click strack2004 (or whatever member you're doing). - This brings up a whole page of statisitics on...
  16. Hmmmmmmm......interesting........I eat TONS of potatoes.
  17. Thanks.......at least this doctor is getting things moving, running tests, thinking of things that could be wrong, telling me to take certain meds to help with this. At least I've already had an endoscopy so I know what it's like........hmmm........I wonder if they'll put me out fully again or just half-way as it has happened with most here. It's a different...
  18. Endoscopy scheduled for September 13 to make sure my intestines are healing and also an opportunity to check for ulcers..........
  19. Oooh....good idea...as simple as it is, I wouldn't have thought to do that Do you have any additional allergies/intolerances. Genisoy makes two gluten-free bars....both have PB in the name.....some Southern Chunky kind and a honey pb something.....
  20. Yoplait wasn't too helpful via e-mail.......I believe you, Richard, but I'll just call them to make sure that they haven't changed anything since you checked. Here are my two e-mail replies..........anyway, sounds like your representative was more helpful, Lyndsey....I had forgotten what Jack had said when I posted this morning . Ugg...
  21. Right......a person would know if they got one, anyway, though, since they get an e-mail notification explaining why and the whole warning procedure and policy....so even though they wouldn't see the bar on the left, they would still have heard of their warning.
  22. I think the Prilosec OTC is really helping me.........I feel much better. Besides, the doctor said, if I had ulcers (I think that's what he said....if not, something else), I would be taking Prilosec, anyway.....
  23. My school provides me with a hot gluten-free lunch......nearly always fish. Anyway, what I have done, which works and can last....maybe 5-7 hours is get an insulated container and put spaghetti or mac. and cheese in it. I don't do this for school, but I have done it for other occasions where I need to bring my own food. Cold lunch.......sandwiches.....
  24. I don't think the caffeine helps with stress........okay, that's putting it mildly.....caffeine is bad for stress or anxiety......you might want to stay away from that a bit....or at least limit it............about the other stuff.......I don't know what's with forgetting or imagining things. Someone here...I think it was Jessica (angel_jd1) made a thread...
  25. Mariann, I don't think warnings show up for people other than moderators. When I became a modertor, seeing the warning levels was a new thing. Mariann, one person does have two warnings and it does say 67% if you have two. Ruth, You would know if you were warned because a moderator would've notified you explaining that you had been warned and that...
