  1. Okay.......thank you
  2. Although the thin, anemic, very symptomatic celiac is the "classic celiac", it's not necessarily the most common. Bloating is one of the most common symptoms and if you run a search, you'll notice that depression, and mood swings are not at all unusual. Finally, if you look at the weight section, you'll notice that there are many more posts on losing than...
  3. I live in NY, also............but a few hours away from you; in NYC.........I find that the board is enough support for me........I also talk to a few people here off the boards via e-mail or instant message. It doesn't really matter where they live, as long as they're someone else to talk to
  4. Oh, wow.......thanks for the link.......I couldn't find them on the internet. The only stuff I've tried by them are the things I listed: brownies, eng. muffins, corn muffins, blueberry muffins........it'd be interesting to try their other products, such as pound cake. Like I said, they're expensive, but I guess nearly all specially made gluten-free food...
  5. LOL........ .......Foods By George products can be hard to find, though......in the city, with 4 healthfood stores within 1/4 mile, a Fairways, and a Whole Foods, there's still only one healthfood store I can find them in. It doesn't really matter what you try, though I think the brownies and english muffins are the best. If you like corn muffins, Foods...
  6. oooh.......really Richard? I read in some sample of Clan Thompson's that the custard-style was gluten-free.........i didn't see anything else, but it never said that other flavors weren't gluten-free........thanks. Lyndsey, I couldn't contact the entire company Mars via e-mail, but rather, just Milkyway or M&Ms separately on their respective sites...
  7. Oh, wow.........what happened? Did you run some tests to find out he wasn't celiac? What was wrong before?
  8. ENGLISH MUFFINS!!!!!!!!!!!! Foods by George makes amazing Eng. Muffins...........amazing everything, but english muffins are what they are known for. You have to try them..... the only negative is the price............
  9. Oooh........i got e-mails from General Mills, Yoplait, and.........some other places........can't remember who........yesterday. I got the same thing from General Mills, but I wasn't asking about a specific product or type of product. Can't remember the other replies.........just remember that Yoplait has no list..... I'll check when I get home
  10. Barbara, All pinned topics are sorted by date of last post. Therefore, if one topic gets continuous replies, it stays at the front. As new topics come in and start getting more replies, the previous ones slowly drift onto the second and third pages. It works pretty well cause people get to post in a certain topic until everyone has said what they wanted...
  11. That really stinks! People can be such idiots!
  12. Cindy, Buckwheat is absolutely fine........I thought that at first when I was shopping for gluten-free waffles. I came across one in the healthfood store that said Buckwheat Pancakes or something like that and on the box it said "GLUTEN-FREE" and "WHEAT-FREE". I thought, how can it be gluten-free when it's buckWHEAT, but it is. I just checked and on the...
  13. This comes up a lot, so I thought I might save everyone some time and post it here. To all newbies: when you want to make a reply to a post, do not hit the report button. That button is to be used to report material that is offensive or violates board rules. To make a new topic, scroll to the bottom of the page where there is an "add reply" button. Click...
  14. Open Original Shared Link tried to post using the report button, therefore, it didn't get added to the thread, but came to the moderators. Here is what dscialla wanted to say:
  15. Great....obviously, keep us posted (no pun intended)
  16. Thanks for the site.......funny name
  17. I've heard a bit more from my doctor, so I'll fill everybody in. Okay, first off, as you all know by now, I've still been having symptom troubles.....and my GI was terrific in diagnosing, but utterly useless with the post-diagnosis stage of celiac. So I recently switched doctors to a celiac specialist. He has been great. Now, these were a few possibilities...
  18. Ruth, I simply e-mailed all these companies cause I had a lot of time on my hands with a computer and nothing else to do . I tried to think of a lot of companies that I could e-mail. I do not eat Ben and Jerry's ice cream, although I have had Haagen Dazs. The doctor is focusing on a few things that he thinks could be causing my problems. Actually...
  19. Good point, crc0622. I have another list ......this one from Haagen-Dazs
  20. I got another reply, this one from Dannon. I think it's funny that they mention celiac.com. Anyway, it's pretty much just the plain ones, though for any dieting celiacs, the lowfat and nonfat are gluten-free.......often, lowfat and nonfat products contain gluten, so that's good news.......although I'm trying to gain weight.
  21. Kraft doesn't have a food list. Their American cheese is, however, gluten-free. I use it all the time for grilled cheese. I also use Kraft parmesan cheese and mozzarella. All gluten-free........ By the way, you can tell if Kraft products are gluten-free by looking at the label. Just look for wheat, barley, malt, rye, etc. anywhere on the label....
  22. Yeah.........i was thinking about that and i'd rather get sick from gluten than die or have something really bad happen to me just because teh doc. couldn't give me gluten
  23. I don't know.......it might depend on the person, but I'm not. Besides my celiac disease symptoms, I can't remember the last time I had the flu or some other stomach problem. Last year around Christmas, everyone in the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades at my school was getting sick from some flu-like thing. My class of 20 depleted to 4........I was one...
  24. How's he taking it? Anyway, welcome to the board, Matthew!.........hope the diet helps with his symptoms.
  25. I got Nestle's list...it's annoying that all the candy lists that I don't really care about come before the others.......... ......anyway, notice the way Nestle puts it: attached is the allergen information you requested......ALLERGEN! It's not an allergy! Anyway:
