  1. Rian (rattaway) had trouble trying to start a new thread (error messages), so I'm starting this topic.....and Rian can fill in any details that I didn't mention in a reply.....etc. Anyway:
  2. Yay! I tried a mix not too long ago that was 10 times better than even Pamela's....if you like choc. chip cookies, I can get you the name--don't remember now. Hope you like the Chebe, too
  3. I knew about Mugs, but have never heard of Virgils........
  4. I use Ener-G, but it's not nearly as light as the old stuff was.....it's too dense, but the best I have found
  5. Yeah....they're not a huge, well-known company like Ener-G or Kinnickinnick (sp.)........ I like that they don't introduce new products cause they're mediocre and might sell---they seem to wait until they have something really great and as good as it can get and THEN put it on the shelves.
  6. I love your slideshow avatar! Cute pics....I've seen this kind of thing using some program, but can you do that with standard programs on a comp.? I don't think you have to be on gluten for enterolab tests.....as long as it hasn't been years w/o gluten...so it might make sense to have your pizza before the test, but you don't need a full-out gluten...
  7. Well, physically I'm thirteen (and a half ), but I've never really spoken or acted like a thirteen year-old.....thank you for the compliment .
  8. I got that same list from Jennifer a few weeks ago Hmmm....can't find the e-mail now, so thanks for reposting. I tried to find out if Fanta (orange) was gluten-free......they're testing it.
  9. The blueberry muffins weren't quite as "realistic" as the corn. Also, if you didn't toast the english muffin, that's why--no eng. muffin is good before toasting ......it's definitely thicker than most eng. muffins, but once toasted, it tastes the same to me and it's actually nicer to have a thick eng. muffin cause it doesn't get burnt as easily. My...
  10. My mom thought she remembered some breast cancer support group that is worldwide called "glendas" or something.....she said it might come to her. I found a few links on the internet......I'm sure you've already seen just about all of them by this point, but if not, here they are: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original...
  11. I know I accidentally ate one once without even thinking about it--I really scared myself, but then found out they were gluten-free......close call I think Tic Tacs are gluten-free; I thought I heard that somewhere; but don't chance it unless you've called the company. -celiac3270
  12. For anyone who hasn't already heard me go crazy over Foods By George.....they're the best! The brownies taste better than the "real" thing. The blueberry and corn muffins taste just as good as or better than the "real" thing. But I just found out that they are not famous for either the brownies or muffins -- but rather for their english muffins!...
  13. I know that Pepsi doesn't have gluten (unless there was some freak batch of it).......I've never heard Turkey Hill listed as being gluten-free, but it probably is....dunno what caused that reaction
  14. No, it's fine to vent. I guess, too, this serves as a good example to all of us of how fortunate we are with our situations......having celiac disease. It's easy to feel sorry for ourselves and at times we deserve to feel sorry for ourselves; we have it harder than a lot of people in this country do---but I think I tend to lose sight of the fact that there...
  15. I didn't ask for drugs, either, but was really hungry after.....then again, breakfast is my largest meal by far and I had to skip breakfast, and it was already lunch time when they were done. LOL.... this is one of those rare occasions when you can use that "smiley" Indeed....... Once again, glad all went well. Please share the...
  16. And I thought I was doing soooo well.........nope. I've gained....about 8-9 pounds, which is good......but: However, I'm 13, so this is around the age when boys are having big growth spurts -- my weight gain puts me at the same percentile in the growth curve--sure, I've gained, but I've gained enough to keep me gaining at the same sort of rate I was...
  17. First step: know what ingredients to avoid. There's a list on the site (thorough list) that tells you what ingredients are bad. Contrary to the impression one might get, gluten isn't just looking at the label to see if it has "wheat", "rye", "barley" or "oats". Here's the list: https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-59104125314.5e....anything that...
  18. Yep.....also, if you get contaminated eating out, you might not know it (many people have symptoms weeks or months into the diet).....if you wait till you feel 100% better, you'll know when you get contaminated......much better than getting sick constantly and not knowing what from........
  19. Starting the gluten-free diet, I lived on rice cakes (I ate 6-10 a day )....I don't eat them too much, anymore, but I did eat Quaker Rice Cakes....I called the company before and they said that all the regular-sized ones are gluten-free (meaning you can have cheddar, caramel, PB, whatever). I don't know about the mini ones, so unless someone else knows...
  20. People don't have to be skinny to be celiac -- actually, many are overweight or obese.....a really skinny, symptomatic person is the sterotypical celiac, but not necessarily the most common. It wouldn't make a difference if you were fasting--your blood is not going to skyrocket or drop dramatically if you don't eat for a day or two. -celiac3270
  21. To top off my Chebe pizza I use Kraft cheese--they have a shredded mozzarella that is fine (oops, Richard mentioned that already). I also use some parmsean (sp.) cheese (but that wasn't some shredded kind so I guess that doesn't really matter for this discussion). -celiac3270 P.S. So, Gillian502 -- it's not a bad idea at all -- it's gluten-free
  22. A detailed and at times, humorous story . I know -- I feel the same way sometimes -- I've had the scope, sonogram, urine, stool, bone density, and nearly ten bloodtests.......it's crazy! .....I'm not sure if I have had my thyroid checked -- my new doc. is going to want it checked if I haven't done so already, but my old GI has to send the info...
  23. Well, there's a post that contains all the gluten-free chain and fastfood restaurants (PF Changs, TJI Fridays, McDonalds, etc.). You might find Open Original Shared Link helpful....depending where you live -- they have really strict regulations to make it on their list so you know the restaurant has to be pretty safe.
  24. How did it go, Jill?
