  1. I think it's great. It's too expensive but wonderful. Not as hoppy or heavy as Redbridge. It's real beer that's why it's great. It's similar to drinking a Bud Light. Again, I wish Bud and Corona would officially release their gluten numbers because I'm quite sure they'd be well under 20 ppm too.
  2. Kudos to this brewery for doing what makes sense - use barley to develop beer and simply take the gluten out. The best beer available to celiacs because it's real beer. The price is a bit outrageous but worth it.
  3. Hope I can find it here in Virginia! Thanks! There are some other barley based gluten free beers in Europe. Hope they begin to distribute too.

  5. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  6. I'm eating all of the Chex flavors without any problems. I love them all. I eat them for breakfast and they are great for a snack too.
  7. My Whole Foods had samples out on their "Gluten Free Day," yet didn't have any to sell. Can you believe that? It was great though!
  8. I was so excited to see McCann's Instant Oatmeal being offered at my local grocery store I bought two boxes. That night, I decided to have oats for dinner. I felt fine, no bloating or cramping. But after two to three days, I noticed I hadn't gone number 2. For the sake of full disclosure, I'm a very regular guy. No problems there. So, I'm guessing McCann...
  9. I made Chebe calzones the other night. They were excellent. I made two. I had one the next day for lunch. I think Chebe is better warmed up. Sometimes, after it is freshly baked, it can be a little on the chewy side. That's just tapioca flour for you. I'll say this though, tapioca flour is the closest thing to wheat flour in terms of texture and chewiness...
  10. I was shopping at Wegmans recently and picked up some baguettes for $7.99. At first, I thought, "why am I wasting $7.99 on gluten free bread that will lead to yet more disappointment." Well, I stand corrected. Wow, just wow! These baguettes were by far the closest thing I've had to real, flaky, chewy bread since my diagnosis. I highly recommend. I was...
  11. Precisely. Finally, someone who isn't a zealot that read my post for what it was. It was simply my general observation and MY experience. I did not state that people should leave their homes to go buy any beer. For the twentieth time, I'm saying that if these products were tested, the likelihood that they would be found below the 20 ppm definition would...
  12. This is laughable on many levels. Unfortunately, not everything is black and white. I've been confirmed celiac for three years. I know this shatters people's strict interpretation of the gluten free diet, but the bottom line is, light beers don't affect me. My follow-up endoscopy and blood tests have proven this. If I were to eat a sandwhich, I'm sure...
  13. After my first celiac panel bloodwork revealed my antibody count was around 275. Also, last year, I had a follow-up endoscopy, while drinking beer regularly, showed no signs of celiac after being on a gluten-free diet for the previous year. Obviously, we all have different levels of sensitivity to gluten. Apparently the levels in watered down beer like...
  14. I've reported in the past that I regularly drink Bud Light without any issues. For the third straight blood test "check-up" my numbers are great and no sign of gluten entering my system. I'm looking forward to the "gluten-free" definition being finalized because I believe that if Anheiser Busch/InBev does test their lighter beers, we'll find that their...
  15. The devil????? Isn't this 2008? Lol. I'm sorry to hear about your situation but it's pretty comical. For some reason, I have a feeling that talking SCIENCE with your mother may not help. You should make this fun and tell her you joined a cult. Lol....
  16. Hi! I'm doing well way out here in Loudoun County! I'm still make my trek to Whole Foods in Fair Oaks though!
  17. Thanks! I'm guessing my insurance wouldn't have any issues with this.
  18. Once I was diagnosed back in 2005, Dr. Fasano from the University of Maryland had me get follow-up blood work every 6 months to make sure I was properly avoiding gluten. Now I've moved a little too far from Baltimore to make the trek for doctor's appointments so I was wondering if I should ask my family doctor to write a prescription to check my antibody...
  19. If you want a great grilled cheese, buy Glutino's "Fiber Bread." I liken it to a Pepperidge Farm type bread. I think when it's grilled, it's wonderful. Regarding the 20 ppm, I think that's acceptable, but I don't consider myself a "sensitive" Celiac.
  20. I just returned from an 8 day trip to Brasil for a friend's wedding. What a great time. As many of you know, it's very stressful to travel when you have Celiac Disease. As always, I packed many snacks for this trip. Much to my surprise, Brasil has to be one of the most Celiac friendly destinations. All of their products are listed "contem gluten" or...
  21. I'm traveling to Brazil next week. Does anyone know how easy or difficult following a gluten free diet will be in Brazil? I've printed off some cards in portugese. That will help. Any tips would be appreciated!
  22. I agree, the Namaste brand crust is the best I've had to date. The chebe pizza isn't nearly as good as cooking it as a calzone. Not sure why.
  23. Last night I made a calzone with the Brazilian brand Chebe bread. Wow! It had the tecture and chewiness of a real calzone. Just follow the recipe for the bread but take a rolling pin and flatten it as much as you can and then fill it up with cheese, sauce, and pepperoni. Good stuff!
