  1. Your are right, I should have only said water! Thanks for the laugh, I needed it.
  2. Thank you Hathor and Mom23boys, I feel better hearing from others that this isn't necessarily going to continue with other foods. Hathor, I think you are probably right about having always been sensitive to soy. My enterolab results for soy was an 8 (<10 being normal). That was before I started replacing milk with soy milk. Probably after I started...
  3. Okay, it seems that soy milk has now decided to rip my stomach up and make me bloat. I am alreday gluten and casein free. I can tolerate soy in small amounts in processed foods, just not the milk. So now I am drinking almond milk. Will it be almonds next?? I have this fear that when I am an elderly person, I will only be eating rice and water. I'm...
  4. Yes, most of the time I eat them with the skins on, but not always. I'm always trying to make sure I get enough fiber.
  5. amberleigh, Yes, I agree. I have to fight the urge to not blame everything on celiac disease now. That is why I went to see the gyn. and am willing to get the ultrasound. It could very well be non-food related. Thanks.
  6. Burdee, I should have mentioned that I had testing done through enterolab. My result for soy was 8 with <10 being normal. That was a little over a year ago though and I know things can change. I eat a lot more soy now that I am unable to have gluten. I might do the ELISA testing like you mention because the elimination diet and journalling take...
  7. I think I may be developing a new food intolerance in addition to gluten and dairy. For the last month I have been bloating up big time and looking like I am 4 months pregnant! I went to the Gyn and he thinks it may not be gyn related, but ordered an ultrasound anyways. Today I was not bloated and stayed flat all day until after dinner. After dinner...
  8. I agree with what elye said. The longer you are gluten free, the easier it will be to tell when you get glutened. I am about a year gluten free now and I am just now beginning to get obvious gluten reactions.
  9. I never even thought about this! Thanks for bringing this up. I will call and check again.
  10. I have asked, and they tell me yes. But I do wonder if that depends on who is working.
  11. We did this too when we went camping. YUMMY!
  12. It is one of the few fast food restaurants in our town that fries french fries in a dedicated fryer. Just wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences there. Thanks!
  13. Thanks for explaining this. I'm feeling a little better now that I have read everyone's responses.
  14. Thanks for your help with this.
  15. I'm not sure. For example, the day before I had my most recent floating stool, I had had popcorn. But would it show up as a floating stool 3 stools later?
  16. Just wondering after reading another post here, because I have been gluten for over a year now and I still get floating stools once in a while?
  17. Thanks for replying. I don't think I get gluten all too often anymore and so this has really surprised me. Back before I was gluten free I don't remember being so irritable, mainly zoned out. I am a bear to be around right now and I feel so bad about it, especially for my kids. I am hoping this doesn't go on for much longer.
  18. I have been angry, impatient, and bloated for 3 days now. Just wondering how long this should be lasting. Thanks!
  19. Well, my reaction to gluten is always mental. I rarely get D or C from gluten. Dairy on the other hand tears my digestive system up. I suspect that it was from a chai tea latte made with soymilk that I ordered from a place I haven't before. I didn't ask them to check ingredients because I get them at other places and they are fine (I know, I know )...
  20. I am casein free also. Friday evening I got the same pain I always get when I get lactose. But in addition I had major bloating, total insomnia (I mean I was wired until 2:00 a.m). Next on Saturday and Sunday I was extremely agitated. Today is Monday and I still am. I feel rage and can't stand to talk at length with anyone. This is so out of character...
  21. My kids and I just taste tested ZenSoy's Soy pudding. We all thought it tasted just like the milk version of chocolate pudding. We are casein free also, so this is a great find.
  22. Just wanted to say THANKS for your responses. I guess there aren't any easy answers. It is nice to know others share my frustration. At least I'm not alone. Thank you Celiac Girls for the snack suggestions and gfp you are right about it boiling down to not being able to protect kids all the time. Sometimes I forget that I can't.
  23. Yes, this is my experience too. My son is 8 also and reacts just like your daughter. Even he can see that there isn't any connection to a life event. For example, the other day he got up for school, took a shower and then sat on the bathroom floor crying and didn't know why. He also gets extra tired. He is offended if someone just looks at him.
  24. Both of my kids are gluten-free/CF. I have managed to eliminate both of these from their diet (no small feat!). They are so limited in what they can eat because of being casein free also, that I let them have things like Lay's chips etc. that are a little risky as far as cross-contamination. They don't eat them every day however. The problem is that ds...
  25. I feel the same way! Thanks for sharing this!
