  1. Hi Murph/Tom. Glad to give you a giggle. What would go into these magical bars? No dairy, no fruit, no sugar, no chocolate, no nuts, no grains.... Shucks. Rachel, you are too funny. I love the way you solve problems, you rachel them. I venture out of Rachelville once in a while but I am generally...
  2. Yes you can, sorry it has been rough lately. He has my vote. Beverly, thanks for posting your results, I am so glad you have clear answers.
  3. Julie, I really hope so too. Three years is a very long time to be so ill. A year and a half ago when I melted (lost 40 pounds very rapidly) and had complete gastric distress I initially identified my illness as digestive but after going gluten free and then dairy and soy free and still not feeling better I began to see a different pattern. I...
  4. Glad to have you here. It has helped me enormously and I feel that much of that has been the laughter. With Jin as our resident comic there is no shortage of that, and the rest of us are rather silly too. I totally get the withdrawal I went for two days without a rinne bar and then lost it yesterday and ate more than 5, I...
  5. Jin, you are hilarious, in Manitoba we vote for the sexiest politician and Gary Doer won. I was at the premier's dinner, an annual big event to celebrate the premier and their political party and decided I should talk to him about Lyme. I swear there were a line of women off to the side giggling and waiting to talk to him but I didn't wait I went right...
  6. Hi Andrea, I was just thinking that about Rachel too but since she had so kindly responded to my question I didn't want to scold her. I hope Jin's appointment went well but I have so little faith in doctors that I wouldn't be surprised to hear another idiot story.
  7. Hi Rachel, yes I was thinking it was my kidneys, each time I've eaten the cilantro - not the first day but definitely the second day. It feels just the way you described, as if something is backing up, the whole area gets very stiff and sore. I'll pay attention and I do take the mercury issue seriously. Maybe if Dr.Huffy gives me a refund I'll look...
  8. HI JUDY, SENDING BAD DOCTORS Me too. What's on Sunday? Is that your appointment with Dr.Amy? Did I dingo something? I'm busy with home projects, I painted the second bedroom, now office, ceiling, walls, floor and that all sounds like a lot until you find out that the room is only 7 x 9 feet. I am back...
  9. Good. I have heard that honey is more easily tolerated than other sweeteners, it is interesting. I know fruit really causes my tongue to be much whiter. Thank you Rachel, more bad news. I know a friend had it and she was dealing with Kaiser, though I am not positive that Kaiser did the test. Sorry, that...
  10. It was in my thirties that I began to notice a relationship between heat and migraines and after ending up in emergency a few times I began to avoid it. That also ended my migraines that I had had since I was in my early twenties. As I have said before it seems to me I have a lifetime of my system becoming ever more compromised until it finally tipped...
  11. I'd like to see one that says "Ticks Happen". More excellent scientificness. Thanks Rachel.
  12. Donna, I completely agree with jin, your paintings are wonderful. As I said before, I think Rachelville definitely needs an art gallery. Jin, I find that fruit is worse for me than semi-sweet chocolate. Curious. I have the avocado but no smoked salmon and can't really do the brown rice tortilla but it sounds delicious and I...
  13. Sorry Judy, I am so glad I didn't go there. Hope your legs are feeling better. Thanks and nice to have you here. Susan I really like your painting, I love Matisse. I saw a show of his in San Francisco that just blew me into joy. I think we knew it was dangerous and that we weren't supposed to touch it, but...
  14. I've been thinking about my health history and one thing that strikes me is that after my smallpox vaccination I developed some compulsive behavior things, like everything had to be in threes but it had to be even too and none of it was too obtrusive and it eventually went away. It makes me wonder if that vaccination wasn't just the first real assault...
  15. The pasta dish with salmon does sound good, I've been avoiding soy and all grains including rice, the corn tortilla was my "being bad". I lead a very dull life. If you share your salmon pasta tofutti recipe I may make it when I am feeling really reckless or should I say wreckless. I went a whole day without one rinne bar. Donna...
  16. Miamia, that was funny about the smoked salmon. What else do you like to eat? Today I made "pork and beans" with organic ground pork, onions, garlic and black beans and on the side steamed chard with lime juice on it. I was feeling so 'carla' about my diet today, not a rinne bar in sight and then chocolate jumped out of the fridge and into my hands...
  17. Why be practical when glamour awaits? Your settee sounds lovely, the one we bought though not down filled is very comfy too. I'm glad to hear that, I know I felt better once my brother was gluten free and feeling better, it has been at least six months for him now. I see Rachelville has given new meaning to scat, now if we could...
  18. I just realized that if I was actually going to post to all the comments I wanted to I would be looking at parts 5, 6, 7...... I voluntarily dingo'd them all. Everyone is too funny. It's great to see Rachelville flourishing. My initial attempts at painting were thwarted by a bad can of paint, I will prevail though. I ordered the...
  19. And a two.... It sounds like reactions I have had to sulfites. I hope you feel better. Hello to everyone. Mostly I am just reading along, feeling kind of yucky myself, I know I need to get motivated to do more heinous moving chores.
  20. Rachel, thank you for all the mercury scientificness. I am thinking I need to get these last fillings done. And sometimes that's a full time job. Laura, I hope you read the good news that Beverly had about her SIL or sister of SIL, dingo me who had recovered from Lyme and was expecting a baby. Sorry...
  21. You could start by keeping a food journal, it really helps to begin to make connections. The salt/C treatment is very cheap, about ten dollars a month I think.
  22. I've been cranky all day too and when my sweetie asked how I was feeling I snapped, said something about it being OBVIOUS. Fortunately I laugh more than I snap. I've been thinking about you so often lately, I'm really glad you posted and that you are doing better. That is great news. I think Dingo Girl best expressed my feelings. Don...
  23. I hope the day gets calmer. My exact thought, thanks for the update Andrea. What did I dingo? Must go back.
  24. How did I miss that? I've started back on salt, just a half teaspoon a day and I've noticed that the night sweats are less when I take it. I am getting tired of them. I wonder how Richard is doing, I really enjoyed his humor.
