  1. My Kitchen Aide is also a professional model, and I found it for $150 (still in the box) on Craigslist. My mom got the same model 600pro at a regular store and only paid $250 b/c she found a sale. The bargains are out there on KA mixers...just keep your eyes open online and in store for the sales (around holidays, seasons' changing, and "ugly" colors are...
  2. Thank you! I'm just trying to figure this out. Sigh... You guys are more knowledgable than the doctors. Blessings, Julie
  3. Hi everyone, I'm 5'8" tall, and I've lost down to 105 pounds (last time I checked)....I'm still losing a pound or two a week b/c of the diarrhea. Celiac has definitely been ruled out as a dx, but I wonder about gluten intolerance. Here's my question: Could foods without gluten give me "D" if I'm still eating foods with gluten? In other words, I...
  4. Hi there! How have you been? Well, only one of my tests came back definitely negative for Celiac, and it was TTG. I can't remember if I was eating gluten at the time or not. Do you happen to know what tests I should have done to have a full panal of bloodwork for gluten intolerance? Good hearing from you! Julie
  5. Hi guys, I haven't written in awhile. The truth is that I am homebound b/c of my frequent diarrhea and illness. Nobody knows what it is! I've been hospitalized 2 or 3 times in the last 6 months and been to the ER 4 or 5 times. I am VERY sick. Anyway, they had diagnosed me with Celiac a long time ago and then changed it to ulcerative colitis and...
  6. Ahhh, these brownies bring back memories of the good-ol'-days when I used to be gluten-free and tried to cook (been years ago). I'm such a mess in the kitchen! I made a huge mess this time, and all I needed to do was add a 1/2 stick butter and two eggs. Actually, I recommend adding three eggs, when I had only added two, the batter was VERY dry. The...
  7. Awww...thank you Collette! I sure hope we ALL get answers to what's causing our probs. worked out soon. I just want to feel "human" again...have the energy to clean house, decorate for fall, and stay off the friggin' toilet. Have a wonderful evening! Julie
  8. So sorry to hear that you're going through that. I hate this guessing game. And I'm almost too tired to play it. Like you, I just need answers before I waste away...I'm already down to about 118 pounds and I'm 5'8". Good luck to you...we'll figure it out...we don't have a choice! Hope tomorrow is better. -Julie
  9. Thank you very much Patti. I really need to feel better...I just keep getting weaker and weaker. So, I'm scrambling to figure all of this out! I appreciate everyone being so helpful!
  10. Thank you everyone. I have a question from Tarnalberry's response. Does gluten-free toast have milk in it? I was reading about being dairy free and it said bread has milk in it...of course, I'm not sure if gluten-free bread is different, and it's been 6 years since I've really been gluten-free so I don't remember. Thanks!
  11. Hi everyone, I'm just so upset this morning, I've been gluten-free for about 2 weeks. I had a couple of "good" days and got excited, but now I'm right back as bad as ever. I've used the restroom 7 times since 6:00 am and it's only 8:00 am right now. Some of you who read my posts may remember that my GI dr. told me I had IBS, take pills daily,...
  12. Hi all, I wrote Publix last week, and I'm about to write Kroger. I asked Publix to please update their list of Publix-brand products that are Gluten-free. They responded today, and the list is updated. If anyone shops at Publix, their Gluten-free list is no longer 3-4 years old, it is current. I know product ingredients continue to change at any...
  13. Hi gang, Can anyone give me a heads-up on Hershey's labeling policy? I found all but Hershey's and Mars while doing my research. I'm trying to get my grocery binder together to take shopping. I appreciate the help! -Julie
  14. Thank you both. So they would not disclose if a product had barley or malt in it for example, just wheat because it's a top allergen. Is that correct?
  15. Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the Mars candy/food company clearly lists gluten ingredients on their labels. Thank you so much for any help! Julie
  16. Hi everyone, This has been asked no less than 2 million times on this board, but would someone please let me know where I can find a list of companies that disclose gluten ingredients on their labels? For instance, I know Kraft is one company, and McCormick spices is another. Help please! A link or something. Thank you so much. I'm not looking...
  17. I just found Udi's white bread and bagels at my local Publix store! The manager is also going to order some Kinnikinnick items for me too. Yay!
  18. Thank you both very much!!!
  19. Thank you for the ideas! I may talk to the manager(s) at the two local stores I frequent.
  20. O.K...I'm not sure if it's the fatigue or headache, but I put a loaf of bread and a bag of bagels in my cart on the Udi's site, and my shipping read $18.00. I didn't see an option not to have it air-mailed. I tried to find somewhere local that sells there products, but nothing came up on their website when I put in my zip. Have I totally lost...
  21. The reason I continued eating gluten after my pregnancy is because my new GI did bloodwork that came back normal (I had to change GI's once my other one moved out of state) and the new GI also told me that I didn't need to be gluten-free.
  22. Hi everyone, I'm in Georgia, and I'm willing to drive almost anywhere in the state if it means finding a doctor (or knowledgeable group of doctors) who really know about celiac,gluten-sensitivity/intolerance. Help! Thank you so much!!! -Julie
  23. Interesting that you had the same results when you were pregnant! I had horrible morning sickness through my first trimester and lost a lot of weight, and then I started craving Krystal hamburgers (like White Castle burgers). I could eat 10 at a time! But amazingly, I wasn't doubled over with pain and diarrhea. I have had a blood panal done by...
  24. Hi everyone, I'm supposed to have a colonoscopy tomorrow, but I'm canceling it. Besides my Dr. being condescending...I've since realized that a colonoscopy is not the test to get for Celiac testing, and that is how he says he tested for it last time. I am also too weak for the prep. required for the test. A whole bottle of Miralax and 4 Ducolax...
