  1. is today Donna's Surgery?
  2. I agree! I read an article about this somewhere - I can't locate it at the moment. But people are noticing these 'things" growing out of their skin and its related to GM foods. I know we don't do corn products on the SCD, but you can't hardly find corn that's not GM. Even if its not, it is most likely cross contaminated. I try to always avoid corn...
  3. I am very far behind on reading all the posts! Guess what I made over the weekend? I don't know! I made 2 quarts of goat yogurt, 1 quart of raw cow yogurt, and 1 quart of what I think is sour cream? I used 1/2 and 1/2 and it turned out really thick like sour cream or cream cheese. I have never tried that before. Does anyone know? It's yummy and...
  4. This is very interesting! I don't disagree with that concept! Something else I read recently that is contributory to Diabetes is low vitamin D.
  5. Reabsorption can definately be an issue. Anytime I try to detox I get Constipated - and that's not helpful! C.Enemas, epsom salt baths, magnesium supplements, vitamin C - are all helpful ways to help your body eliminate. The epsom baths help take some of the burden off the liver and kidneys to excrete via the skin. Extra magnesium helps me stay...
  6. Did you just start the intro? So frustrating, Sherry! Doesn't take much to set us back sometimes! Cool! I'll check out the other thread. I have not been much of a sauerkraut person, but my hubby loves it. Would be a good way to incorporate some good guys into his system.
  7. What is siga? Ask your ND about iodine supplementation - did she ask you to do the patch test? Hang in there, Paula, I am sure that the ND will help work you through all of this. This is me! To me, knowledge is power! But it doesn't work that way for everyone! I agree!! I wish there was a doc like that here...
  8. Here are some Iodine links. Open Original Shared Link This is another board and this section is all about iodine. There is a TON of articles posted here and other links. If you don't *see* anything when you get there....try getting a login....some stuff is *hidden* if you are not a member...I just don't remember what is hidden. Or I can pull up...
  9. Did you get your son's mattress out of the house? About the iodine you time how long it takes to absorb. If its still quite visible after 24 hours then it could be you are fine. I find that if you use the store bought stuff - i think it has other stuff in it - it leaves a little bit on the skin. I used plain iodine (internal) to paint the skin...
  10. Rachel, I think its good that you saw her before going to the doc even though he thought he had it figured out. Now, there won't be any wondering.... About the iodine...I totally believe in iodine usage and it can be very powerful in that it does detox and kill bugs, yeast, and cancer cells. I take it 3-4 times per week. I have lots of info on it...
  11. Rachel - I am SOOO excited for you! What was the test that he ordered to test your methylation cycle? I might look into doing that. Especially since BCBS might be covering more Great Plains labs. Wasn't that where your ordered from? DITTO!!! I am very happy for you too, Kassandra! I agree with Sherry, could still...
  12. Paula, Is the downstairs in a "basement"? Check the walls where the bed used to be and check the walls downstairs - when you get the moisture meter. I don't think it will be too costly for the meter. Under $100. At least it might help locate where the moisture might be coming from. The mold has to have 2 things to live - moisture and a food...
  13. Paula, I am very concerned about all the mold you keep finding in your house. It has to be infested somewhere for it to even begin to get into the mattress. Have you checked behind your son's walls where his mattress sits? Have your hubby knock a hole in the wall and see if there is black mold back there. Have you had your home inspected by a professional...
  14. The coconut I was buying in the can had Guar Gum added. I couldn't find any without - even organic.
  15. I totally need that recipe on how to make fresh coconut milk!!!! That sounds like something i need! Can you post? Or send me to a link? What about the recipe you made with the pulp? I would LOVE to try that too. Everyone, My daughter doesn't like the Cow yogurt I make (from whole milk) because its too runny. I am thinking of using...
  16. Rachel, Since you aren't feeling rushed, I would go ahead with the original plan. That way he'll have all the information in front of him before starting treatment. It could be he forgot about your plan ?? The nurse should have been more specific that he was changing the plan due to test results. Thats what makes me think maybe he forgot or...
  17. I am glad that you are doing well and that the chef is being so helpful. I hope you will find some relief soon from the last setback. Is this a vacation for you or are you working?
  18. i WISH i had known more when i was pregnant. My son is 4 now and is still healing from gut damage that he inherited from me through pregnancy. he is underweight and has ADD type behavior. He had diarrheah and was in poor health as an infant and toddler with recurrent ear infections among other things. I truly believe that if I had started SCD while...
  19. Ok....so maybe I'm not too out of my mind I checked the label and it says Aluminum Free Baking Soda. It's not baking powder. Could be a marketing ploy but I am going to do a bit of research on it anyway. Paula, I would be curious too!
  20. Duh on me!!! Here I am thinking its the same thing.....hmmm....wonder if I put the right one in my bread this morning
  21. Rachel, Wondering if baking soda has aluminum in it? I have been thinking about this because I use it a lot in cleaning, washing and detox baths and I know you use it as deoderant. While I was trying out a new recipe which calls for baking soda ....I noticed that the brand I have in the pantry for cooking says "aluminum free" baking soda. For other...
  22. Hi Jin, Glad to "see" you....The children are doing good. I am about to start little A on the SCD diet and see how he does. His bahavior has been totally whacked out lately and I think its due to bad digestion. I am anxiously waiting for his stool test results. I let him eat a little out of the norm - more dairy and wheat - for his stool test...
  23. Andrea, Thanks for sending me the link
  24. Paula, Glad you are feeling good. Can you send me the link for Carla's Blog? Thanks!
  25. Yep - Hannah! That's it! Yes....he was saying how so many people are breathing in the smoke and how bad it is. Colorado being so close to CA would probably be high in mercury.
