  1. My back and neck hurt so bad today. i scheduled a massage for tomorrow. I don't know why this always happens. I got one last month about this time. I think I am going to try and go every 2 weeks and see what happens. My chiro says my ribs go out. Then I let it go for a while and it starts moving up my back and neck. I even get little pains in the...
  2. Carla, You weight loss could actually be loss of inflammation. I lose weight pretty fast after changing my diet and i don't think its "fat" necessarily but more like inflammation or water. Rachel, Sounds like a good appointment....so what's next... more testing?
  3. Yesterday I had: Bfast: scrambled eggs with zucchini, onions and garlic scramble lunch: rotisserie chicken (organic cooked at Earth Fare), green beans from my garden snack: green apple and yogurt drink dinner: sauteed purple cabbage, pork chops plain (pork ok?), green beans today has been some of the same stuff so I'll post more tomorrow. Tonight...
  4. guineapigme, Sorry for all your going through with the lyme. There are a bunch of "lymies" on this thread so I am sure you will get good advice in that department. I was going to recommend trying the SCD diet. Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Sometimes gluten free isn't enough to heal the gut and the gut damage is still being aggravated by other hard...
  5. Liver enzymes have to be checked regularly on diflucan if that tells you anything about how hard it is on the liver. I would be surprised if you didn't have some sort of yeast issue with the mold exposure. But it could be since you are so good about your diet and not racheling sweets that you kept things under control that way. Wish I could say the...
  6. That's sort of like how I feel with my hubby. I can't talk to him about these issues. When I was really sick and he thought it was all in my head - that frustrated me to tears! I still can't really talk to him about it. It goes over his head and he says "I just don't agree". Well, how can you debate an issue if you know NOTHING about it and NEVER look...
  7. Rachel - Sounds scary! I have had things like that happen before, but maybe not to that extent. The heart palps always scare me! Maybe because its an Unresolved conflict, it is still in there blocked somehow. I am a lot like you in that I don't like to hold stuff in. I am pretty open with myself and my feelings on things. Not really...
  8. I notice my breath worsened when the bad bacteria's got out of control. I recently discovered swishing with iodine. I am using the Lugols that I take as a supplement. And its working! I had gone to the dentist (a holistic one) because I had these greyish spots forming on my front teeth. This was so discouraging because I have never had a cavity and...
  9. Hi everyone! Well I think my yogurt is okay. It doesn't look spoiled at all. There is no way for me to know how many probiotics lived through the desert storm of 120 degrees! It is a bit sour though so I mixed some honey in. It is very runny so I made a "milk" drink for my son this morning. He loved it! That will be his milk in place of the almond...
  10. Off Topic: Please everyone, go online or write or call your senator and ask them to vote YES for the Protect Our Children Act #1738 2008. The bill will be voted on 9-26-08. If approved, this bill will fund law enforcement agencies around the US to catch child predators who are using the internet as a means to show and view child rape and molestation...
  11. Uh oh! Today I came home from work and checked the temperature on my yogurt. It was 120!! I was trying to keep it around 100 or 105. I was gone all day so I don't know how long it was at that temp! I am wondering if this will kill the bacteria's that I need? I hope I don't have to start all over!
  12. Hi everyone! I had a question. My stepdad had lyme disease about 20 years ago. He found it quick and was treated with abx. Hadn't had much problem since. Now he has atrophy in the frontal lobe indicating alzheimers. He's 81 now. He doesn't have any other symptoms to indicate that lyme could be causing any nuero symptoms. Do you guys think that...
  13. Sherry, Thanks for the suggestions. I need to work on having something in the freezer readily available during crunch times. I do not want to half do this or I won't know if it truely works. Maybe i can half do it down the road once healed. I will probably try to stick to this way of eating for life. My yogurt will be ready tonight hopefully!...
  14. I have a confession.....I cheated today. I woke up sick. I didn't feel good and was starving. Nothing to eat in the house because I had not gone to the store yet. I wanted something easy and quick. I tried and tried to think of something safe. I opened a can of organic ravioli's that I bought as a treat for my daughter. Now they were organic and not...
  15. He has eaten hummus before and i didn't notice anything going on. But he did eat it two days in a row. I haven't tracked it enough to see if its food/chemical related or if its more of a grain/digestion thing. The food journal that you recommended to Andrea is a good idea. I might try that. If its the grain/digestion thing, the hummus would be...
  16. He's a little better, but still adjusting. He's not used to such a long structured day. I pulled him out of daycare and hired a nanny (my sister in Feb 2007) to help him reduce the burden on his immune system. And to reduce MY stress, too. It was a great move for his health, maybe not so great for him getting used to school. I couldn't afford to pay...
  17. Sherry, I think you posted about that on the OMG thread. What is the name of it? I think it would be good for me to try that in addition. I received my kirkman acidophilus yesterday. I took one last night and had trouble sleeping. A good sign it was working. I am going to make yogurt today! I'll llet you know how it goes!
  18. Rachel, I'm glad you finally posted! I was starting to worry!! It's not like you to be gone so long. I figured you were feeling frustrated with the dr's and haven't been googling as much. That's a little frustrating that the new doc had not yet reviewed all of your history!!! But glad he is going to now and maybe you can move on. Seems like...
  19. Andrea, When I read the book, "Breaking the Viscious Cycle", the scientificness behind the diet *clicked* for me. I would highly recommend reading it. There is details in there about how the digestive system works particularly for carbs. Even though my son is gluten and dairy free, I can tell that something else is stressing his system and it seems...
  20. Andrea, I started the diet with myself only. I figured I will get used to the changes, try out some recipes, so that I'll be more prepared to try it with my son. I think this might be the missing link to his final stage of healing. He is just like me in all his intolerances and the fact that we both had the yeast problems. So, if it helps me - then...
  21. There is a recipe in the book for "french cream" which sounds really yummy. You take your yogurt and some heavy cream and ferment that. That probably would be good in recipes. Good to know about the Greek Yogurt. I found the Proyogurt (i think thats the name??) that was recommended on one of the SCD websites. I found it at my health food store...
  22. How about epsom baths? Does that help? I find that anytime I have felt wierd and toxic the epsom bath does wonders for me. Plus the binders. I would like to add, it might be good to keep your diet very clean during this time. Fruits, veggies, meats. No hard to digest carbs - even if gluten free.
  23. Do you "drip" yours? I read on some that you drip and other recipes don't mention it. I'm sure I'll find this much easier once I complete it!
  24. Carla maybe just cut back on any herbs or supps that induce cleansing, but keep up with the binders and stuff that help it "release" - if that makes sense. At least until you feel a bit better. You could have stirred up some mold particles when you cleaned. The blueberries are a good idea. They are supposed to also "bind" with certain toxins. I am...
  25. Yep...Meyenburg is the brand we have. That's great - makes it much easier for me. I ordered the Kirkman's today. I think I am going to try the heating pad method. I can't find a yogurt maker that goes for 24 hours. I don't want to use my oven that long because it is a gas oven. Wish me luck!
