*July 2, 2004--my mother's birthday and the day of my bloodwork (IgG)*One week later--tested positive for IgG antibodies. Was told by my Gastro's head nurse, "Here are all the things that you can't have. Are you ready?" *Found this site and support group on the 17th.*Bought rice bread, tasted it for the first time, and hated it. Got used to it eventually, and now enjoy it, except when it crumbles--that sucks.*Talked to the Food Services staff at Thiel and told them about my condition--which they've accomodated quite well. *Became acquainted with the Celiac's best friend--Wegman's. Now a consumer of Pacific Brand Roasted Red Pepper Soup, Food For Life Bread, Arrowhead Mills Puffed Corn, Koala Crisps, and Arrowhead Mills Flakes with Strawberry (aka "celiac disease Special K")*Wrote an informative speech about celiac disease--have begun my campaign to promote awareness whenever possible.*Regained pre-diagnosis in June (I now eat for two of me again!!!)*Started drinking Jack and Coke--Vanilla Coke*Have started to explain myself less in a professional setting---I'd rather have my co-workers ask if I'm a vegetarian than pull out the Celiac card 24/7*Have broken down and cried before because I felt misunderstood (Oct. 2004)*I miss Combos and Krispy Cremes to this day.*I am hungry right now!~Goodnight!
