Just Got Home From Surprise Endoscopy

I went in this morning for my colonscopy. While there, he asked about my symptoms and we decided to go ahead and do the endoscopy.   He got about 6-8 samples and said I should have results within 2 weeks.

I was so pleased. I didn't have to fight for it or anything.

So, I can now go gluten free with confidence. I feel overwhelmed by it  but glad to be getting stuff done.

They also removed 5 polyps and said they'll also let me know within two weeks what the report says about them. I've gotten them since 9, so most likely, another colonscopy next year. Oh yeah.

But home now, tired as can be and so happy to have food.

I'll keep you updated.

Gives me hope...so many stories out there of unhelpful doctors; glad you found one willing to be aggressive!

That is great news!! I went for my pre-op for my colonoscopy and he suggested the endoscopy before I had to even begin to argue with him about it. Was nice to feel like someone is listening!! Hope your results give you all the answers you need!! :)

Thank you everyone. He was awesome. I was so impressed. Now it's just the fun of waiting around, lol.

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
