Just wanted to mention this place we like to stay on the coast of California when we want a weekend away. The Shoreline Cottages are really well-appointed cottages with full kitchens and a full size bed (there are 7, also there are 4 motel-style rooms with two double beds and a kitchenette instead for the same price). Just a mile up the road is a great market, The Harvest Market, where we go and pick up fresh fish, sushi, great produce and some gluten free items. Lots of organic foods there, too.

The cottages are fully stocked with plates, utensils and bakeware but I'd advise bringing your own frying pan, etc, for gluten contamination concerns. There are also two deluxe gas BBQ's for anyone to use. We have stayed three times now in three different cottages and they all have their charm. You can also bring your dog(s). Best of all they are affordable in an area where motel rooms routinely hit $100 and up (these cottages are $65/75 a night during the winter 6 months and $75/85 during the summer 6 months).

No problem! I forgot about the sharing of the cookware and the kitchens are stocked with decent non-stick stuff, but the kind that has a honeycomb surface, so stuff can easily be stuck in there. But Rite Aid is right up the road and I picked up a $9 frying pan which I used the rest of the time there.

And I can't get over Harvest Market - it's the best.
