Wheezing Reaction To Peanut Butter?

I've tried peanut butter twice now on my elimination diet. Seemed to cause some bloating but I wasn't sure if was carry-over from something I ate the day before.

So I tried it again today. About 30 min afterwards I noticed shortness of breath and some wheezing. Could this be the PB? It could just be something else I'm coming down with. All my other food sensitivities cause bloating and maybe some tingling / joint stiffness / vertigo (I have neurological reactions to gluten). But I've never had wheezing.

Can this happen when I've never had a problem w nuts before? Has anyone experienced this type of reaction?

I'm currently on a food elimination diet to figure out my other sensitivities/ intolerances. So far:

OK: eggs, wine

Sensitivity to: dairy, soy, red peppers), ok w corn in small amounts only, strawberries, ok w caffeine in small dosages., may have issue w banana & garlic- need to test again.

Thanks!!

Could you be allergic to it?

If you're coming down with a respiratory illness right now also, there is no way to tell if it was the peanut butter or the illness.

You would have to try PB again when you're not sick.

If you strongly feel you could be allergic to it, I'd look into doing that at a doctor's office.

I'm not coming down with anything. But I guess you are right. I'll just have to try it again. I had an old puffer in the medicine cabinet for my daughter. I tried it and I totally felt better. I never had any other allergies, but who knows.

Never mind. I went to the walk-in clinc and he said its pleurisy.

Thanks though!

Oh no!  Take care of yourself and get lots of rest.  My friend had that.  It was horrible!

I have not made my own juices but have made my own granola copycat recipe from Trader Joes Turmeric ginger granola. Have you made your own juices? blending vs cold pressed what is better?

Sadly, I just now see the extremely tiny and hard to read wording on the label from some I got from nuts.com last year and it's below the certified gluten free sign which is more obvious. Another concern is that there's no expiration date to be found on any of the packages I have gotten.. It's confusing because they claim these are certified gluten free which Is why I got them due to having celiac. Looks like Tierra Farm has the lesser of the allergens, specifically wheat, so I will have to give them a try. Thanks

After many years of running Celiac.com, one thing I've noticed is that I rarely hear about support groups that organize gluten-free picnics. It seem like this would be a great way to get celiacs together. I've attended various conferences, meetings, and events over the years, but strangely, no gluten-free picnics.
