Pecan Pie Made Without Corn Syrup

I need a pecan pie receipe without corn syrup. Now, I have found some online I can try (and combine the directions for several to get one I like) - however, I would prefer to have one that is tried and true.

If you have one, I would be eternally grateful if you woule either post it here or e-mail me the receipe!!!

As a side note-I will replace the butter with oil due to dairy and soy intolerance so don't worry about substitutions...

Thanks...

Well I must say that can't help you because this year will be my first holiday season on the diet but since I can have corn syrup (as far as I know now) I was just worried as to how to make the pie crusts. I bake about three times a year (during holidays) so I buy frozen ready made crusts which of course I can't do this year. What do you use for the crust for your pies? Please says it's easy to make or otherwise, pecan pie may be something else I give up. I try to enjoy cooking/baking but I just don't.

I use (I think because it has been almost a year and I will have to search my cookbooks) Bette Hagman's Gluten Free Cooks Comfort Foods pie shell receipe - modified to not include vinegar because I cannot tolerate yeast and I have used Palm Shortening in the past but this year will try lard due to some tummy problems that I believe are from the shortening. I can't use Crisco due to corn and soy intolerance.

Pie crust is easy - use very cold water and do not overwork the dough or the crust will become tough. The rest is simple. I don't have a pastry blender any more - apparently my ex's current wife liked it when she moved in with my stuff. That was one of the things I didn't get back and have never replaced. I use two forks and that works fine.

Everything with baking is feel and trial and error - practice makes perfect. I suggest you make a couple of pies before the big day.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
