Kassidy's mom Rookie

She definitely has Celiac.

She has been gluten free for a week now and the changes are remarkable!!

She has a personality, she has more energy and is all around just more fun to be around!! LOL!

In fact, she has been a little "spry" the last few days....had her first "real" time out this morning and grinned from ear to ear the whole minute she sat there! ;) !!

Thank you to all who responded to my first post.

I think we're getting it all figured out and adjusting well....I will really miss having pizza delivered tomorrow night-kind of a Friday night tradition in our house and a much needed night off from the kitchen!!

Oh well, I'm just so thankful my little girl is feeling better-that in and of itself is worth all the pizza in the world! :)

I'll be in touch....

Kelly

I'm glad to hear she's doing so much better!

I keep some pre made gluten-free pizzas in the freezer and on pizza night I just toss in oven and when it's done I ring the doorbell and pretend it's delivery! My daughter gets the biggest grin on her face when I do that and I say "Pizza's HERE!!!" LOL!

So glad she is feeling better! Isn't it a relief to have an answer? I hope she continues to do better and better! I have to admit that I still miss pizza nights too. But, thanks to kinnikinnick ready made pizza crusts.....the kids still get really excited when I declare a "pizza night", and it's almost as easy as ordering in!

I totally agree. Those pizza crusts are awesome!

I'm so glad little Kassidy is doing well. It's such a relief to finally be able to do something to help your child. I hope she continues to improve!

Does anybody know of a guide that ranks reevaluates universities and colleges in terms of their accommodation of celiac disease or food allergies?   Thanks in advance for any leads! Valerie

thank you, i have been doing that the last few weeks and will continue to do so. I had not had my ttg iga checked since I was diagnosed 14 yrs ago so I am not sure if they ever dropped below the 15-20 range.    all my other labs are completely normal but I am concerned that this may be signs of refractor celiac or something else since I'm so careful with gluten-free diet

Around 9% of celiacs cannot tolerate any oats, even gluten-free oats. It might be worth eliminating them for a few months, then get re-tested.

I only eat certifed gluten-free products but a lot of which are processed. Could there be trace gluten in those or is that very unlikely?

For people with celiac disease hidden gluten in their diets is the main cause of elevated Tissue Transglutaminase IgA Antibodies (tTG-IgA), but there are other conditions, including cow's milk/casein intolerance, that can also cause this, and here is an article about the other possible causes (you may want to avoid oats):
