My 10 yo daughter has had stomach issues for over a year. I had her go gluten and dairy free, it helped, but not completely. I was referred to a GI doc who was willing to run lots of tests. She had been 99% gluten free for approx three months at the time of the test.

Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA - 4 (Negative 0-19)

Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgG - 13 (Negative 0-19)

t-Transglutiminase (tTG) IgA - <2 (Negative 0-3)

t-Transglutimanse (tTG) IgG - 5 (Negative 0-5)

Endomysial Antibody IgA - Negative

Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum - 130 (range 62-236)

Genetic test results:

DQ2.2 and DQ2.5 trans

Also, thyroid panel:

Free T4 1.48

TSH 2.57

Her CBC blood panel was all normal.

The doctor recommended the FODMAP diet, but she still feels ill/slightly nauseous most of the time, especially in the morning.

Thank you for your help, any and all input is welcome.

Being gluten free for three months makes the tests invalid! Experts in Celiac Disease recommend consuming gluten 8 to 12 weeks DAILY prior to any celiac blood testing. Here is a link to the University of Chicago's celiac website regarding testing:

Here is a link to the British GI site. Again, it states that patients must be consuming gluten!

And from the American Gastroentologists:

I am so sorry that your daughter is suffering. I think you need to go back to the GI and ask why he/she did not follow the standard recommended celiac disease diagnosing criteria. Consider finding a celiac disease savvy GI and consider a gluten challenge. The challenge can be shorter 2 to 4 weeks prior to an endoscopy.

I used Aveeno products for years and had to stop using it because my skin problems got worse.  I do have Dermatitis Herpetiformis.   Not all people with Celiac react to oats.   I use tallow balm.  People have been using it for thousands of years.  Tallow balm is better absorbed that plant fats.  There's also tallow balm soap.  My favorite brand is Vintage Tradition Tallow Balm.

Yes I have thyroid and have had it for over 30 years and just got diagnosed for cealiac last march.I have been complaining all the years about stomach pain weight lost hair falling out they kept blaming on the thyroid and I am over 70 years old. but what I’ve been reading thyroid, diabetes, should take a closer look,I think autoimmune plays a part. All I know is that I cook strictly gluten-free and also found if restaurants don’t have a designated gluten-free kitchen not going there. Cross contamination is a big thing .
