My daughter on the Gluten challenge: Which gluten panel is more comprehensive please?

Hello Forum members :

So my daughter who has been on the Gluten Challenge for about 8 weeks now, and we want to do the Comprehensive panel.

-tTG IgA and tTG IgG

-DGP IgA and DGP IgG

-EMA IgA

-total serum IgA and IgG (control test)

-AGA IGA and AGA IgG - older and less reliable tests largely replace by the DGP tests

We are not having any luck with a clinic that does all of these tests.

I would be more than grateful if you can tell me which of these two Panels is more complete.

Sorry , I do sound probably ignorant (and in these matters I am just beginning to learn ) and I am in desperate need of assistance.

PANEL 1- (free clinic)

-immunoglblulin GAM (IgA, IgG, IgM)

-CRP

-ESR

(He also suggested the following tests:

ALT, Alk phosphate, Vit B12, Ferritin.)

PANEL 2- (Paying clinic)

1.        Deaminated Gliadins IgG & IgA (DGP IgA)

2.        Anti-Tissue transglutaminase IgA(tTG)

3.        Total IgA (control test) we don’t offer total IgG as part of this panel '

4.     ESR

I didn’t recognize AGA IGA and AGA IgG' was what the lab technician told me.

Thank you so much,

L.

Panel 2 is the one that tests for celiac with the DGP and tTG tests.  Panel 1 does NOT have any celiac-specific tests.

Exactly what RMJ wrote -- panel 2.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
