So I got some jam Open Original Shared Link

It did not bother me and it was the first time I had bad a jam/jelly in over a year due to my issues with sugars. I loved it and cleared the first jar in 2 days in heaven no issues. Then I went and got some of their Blueberry SF Preserves Open Original Shared Link

Now I do not have a issue with blueberries I know cause I sometimes snack on 1-2 frozen berries, but this preserve had my mouth fill with blood blisters, even had one form on my uvula that grew to the size of a large marble and started choking me. In a panic I reached back and grabbed it popping said blister but now that is raw and I have issues eating anything.

To the point what would cause two products with the same ingredients to have some different reactions? Is it possible one sourced the maltodextrin or some other ingredient from tapioca or rice, while the other sourced it from corn (Causes blisters like this in a allergic reaction) Thinking the sourcing for different time frames might have been done in the budget department without thought. Anyone else care to give their opinion? I Emailed the company an inquiry but have yet to hear back from them.

citric acid

Any chance you have a problem with citric acid?

As you say, it's possible the maltodextrin was sourced differently.

Then finally, from what I've heard/read from reputable sources including friends who are nurses, an allergy can arise at any time. One day you don't have it, the next day WHOA BOY!

I'm so sorry this has happened to you and I hope you get some answer back from the company soon and that it provides you with something concrete you can attribute it to.

That sounds like a very scarey reaction.  If you don't have an epi-pen perhaps you might want to get one from your doctor. You are lucky the large blister was not far enough down your throat to obstruct your breathing.

Polaner makes an all fruit jam that I use that might work for you. It does have 35 cal per serving but has no sugar or sweetener other than from fruit added.

I have also seen recipes for frezzer and refrigerator jams and preserves that you may want to try.

Yeah I learned how to make my own with polmeria pectin, it uses calcium instead of sugar for thickening. So I can sweeten a jam with xylitiol, monkfruit, stevia, etc. And use LorrAnn oils extracts to make flavors. Goes well with nut milks or calcium water, bit of trouble to make honestly and I thought I had found something I could just buy in a jar that would be safe and good. >.> last time I made a Jam it was with kosher dairy free cheese cake extract, almond milk, and strawberry extract, sweetened with xylitol. Strawberry Cheese Cake jam....4 16 oz jars lasted 2 weeks lol

Sounds great but, I can not have more then a tsp of those or two. I can not have fructose based sugars or sweet carbs in any but the smallest amounts. Like 3-5 blueberries, 1-2 figs, 1-2 dates in a meal. I bloat like crazy and become super gassy with them. Sorta why I jumped at these sugar free jams and pig out on them. Something about my gut biome and sugars just do not get along. Why I eat a mostly keto diet of fats and protein, with veggies. and small amounts (1-2tbsp) of beans, pumpkin, etc normally for meals.

I'm sorry, I obviously misunderstood and honestly, I still don't understand. I thought you wanted preserves that contained no sugar and that you did fine with the Polaner Grape jam so I'm confused as to why you can't have the ones I listed. What am I missing?

Yes the Sugar Free one I listed contains no sugar not even fruit sugars. It uses sucrose as a sweetener with water and a tiny bit of juice/extract in pectin, I can literally sit down and eat half a jar and not get sick. Like a god send when more then 1-3 grapes normally makes you feel bloated and sick. Got another jar of the sugar free grape, no issues and ate 1/4 of the jar. >.> I am enjoying this bit of heaven a bit too much. But it goes great as a veggie dip and on paleo cakes.

YEP, grapes are one of those fruits really high in fructose and quick sugars normally, so they are really bad with me. So a SF grape jelly......YES. Really loving this flavor again. even made peanut free peanut butter pancakes with coconut flour, flax seed, egg whites, and this artificial peanut flavoring that is peanut free. OH DEAR GOD, allergic to peanuts and eating that with grape jelly few days ago.....I was in heaven eating that combo again for the first time in years.

      Have faith, you will survive. I get mine from Pipingrock.com.  500 capsules of 10,000 IU for $22.  That is almost two years worth for me.  250 caps 5000 IU for $6.69 if you only take 5,000 a day.  It's like half the price of Walmart.

      Testing can't alone be trusted.  Else why would it take so many years of testing and retesting and misdiagnosis to finally be told, yes you have Celiac Disease. As to what to eat, I like pre 1950 style food.  Before the advent of TV dinners.  Fresh food is better for you, and cooking from scratch is cheaper.  Watch Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals for how to cook.  Keep in mind that she is not gluten free, but her techniques are awesome.  Just use something else instead of wheat, barley, rye. Dr Fuhrman is a ex cardiologist.  His book Eat to Live and Dr Davis' book Wheatbelly were instrumental in my survival.

      I just want to clarify that what I posted is a category of research summaries we've done over the years, and nearly each one shows that there is definitely a connection to celiac disease and migraine headaches. The latest study said: "the study did indicate some potential causal associations between celiac disease and migraine with or without aura, as well as between migraine without aura and ulcerative colitis...this study did not find evidence of a shared genetic basis..."       Two months ago, I started taking Dupixent for dermatitis herpetiformis and it has completely cleared it up. I can't believe it! I have had a terrible painful, intensely itchy rash for over a year despite going fully gluten-free. See if your doctor will prescribe Dupixent. It can be expensive but I am getting it free. When the dermatitis herpetiformis was bad I could not do anything. I just lay in bed covered in ice packs to ease the pain/itching and using way too Clobetasol. Dapsone is also very good for dermatitis herpetiformis (and it is generic). It helped me and the results were immediate but it gave me severe anemia so the Dupixent is better for me. Not sure if it works for everyone. I cannot help with the cause of your stress but from experience I am sure the severe stress is making the celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis worse. Very difficult for you with having children to care for and you being so sick. Would this man be willing to see a family therapist with you? He may be angry at you or imagine that your illness is a psychosomatic excuse not to take care of him. A therapist might help even if he won't go with you. Also do you have any family that you could move in with (with the kids) for a short time to get away? A break may be good for you both.
