Crock Pot Recipes

I hate to cook!! Even more, I hate to clean up!!

Reynold's now had a slow cooker liner, that you can put in your crock pot and just pull out and throw away when you're done.

I'm looking for some crock pot recipes. It is really wonderful to use the crock pot now, because I have leftovers that I can pack up and bring for quick lunches.

Does anyone have any good recipes. If you could include the brand name of items that you add it would be helpful.

I made a roast in the crock pot last week.

Ingredients:

1 Roast (large enough to fit in crock pot)

1 Pkt Simply Organic Ranch Dip

6-8 peeled and cut potatoes

1 1/2 cups water

1 large bag of defrosted frozen mixed vegetables (is that an oxymoron?)

I put everything except the vegetables in the crock pot and cooked on low for 6-8 hours.

When I came home, I added the defrosted veggies and let cook for another 45 min-hour.

Thanks for any suggestions you can throw my way.

Cindy

Cindy, Thanks for the tip about the liner--I have never seen them, I love to use my crock pot, and liners will make me use it more. (Hate to scrub the sides!). I don't have any formal recipes, I tend to make pot roast, stew, chicken, but its more of a "throw in what I have on hand at the moment" kind of thing. I would like to branch out a little, so I'll be interested in seeing any recipes, also.-- Patti :)

There's a crockpot recipe that I make that my boyfriend just loves. I throw in chicken, a bag of minute rice, pineapple chunks, sliced onion, a little garlic, and mix up to half a bottle of gluten-free barbeque sauce with the juice from the pineapple, with enough water to cover the rest of the ingredients. Season it with salt and pepper, and just let it cook!

That sounds yummy--I'm gonna try it. I'll bet that would be good with country style (boneless) ribs, too.

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
