P.F. Changs offers a gluten-free menu.

Check with the chef/manager. There is a local place that uses white sauce in some dishes, it's gluten-free.

We take my daughter's wheat free soy sauce with us and the restaurant is nice enough to make fried rice with it or some type of brown sauce if she wants it. There are a few brands out there - San J; LaChoy; Shop Rite.

When in doubt, I've found "steamed shrimp with vegetables, *nothing* added, *totally plain*" to be generally effective at chinese restaurants.

The best thing to do is talk with the staff and ask them to help you find something. It can be a little tricky when ordering Chinese because they often marinate the meat in soy sauce. I have found a place that doesnt pre-marinate the meat and I get the garlic chicken with no soy sauce and have no problems.

At Another restuarant I went to, the waitress was very helpful and checked with the cook, and it turned out there was only one thing on the menu I was able to eat!! I would check with a few different restaurants and see if you can find one that is suitable for your needs/tastes. Good luck!!

also.. about PF Changs..

Whatever you do, do not order the Cantonese Chow Fun. I sent mine back because it was so bland, and the waiter said the gluten free version of that gets sent back all the time. I ended up ordering the spicy chicken and that was pretty good, but I prefer more athentic Chinese food, so I probably wont go back there.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
