Gluten screening after gluten

Hi,

I am new to the community and i have a "silly" question.

First of all i want to say a big sorry for my English as it's not my first language.

After many attempts to find what's wrong with me i gave try to gluten free diet.

my symptoms are mostly mental and numbness to my feet finger not gastric so for almost 3 weeks now i am gluten free (not the hard-core mode, not concerning much about cc or reading the labels just avoiding the obvious gluten food) and i feel really better, so i went to my gastroenterology and she agreed to write me the blood test for Celiac and she told me that since i am not hard core gluten free and its only 3 weeks i am in the diet it shouldn't go in to gluten again and take the test asap.

Do you believe she is right or i should start eating gluten again just to be sure. I really like to avoid the eating gluten part due to fear of feeling bad again.

Thanks in advance,

Anastasis

You should start eating gluten again & wait at least a few weeks before you take the tests. I know you said you have been gluten light but you don't want to blow this. Recommendations are a full gluten diet every day for 12 weeks prior to the blood tests. A slice of bread or a few crackers every day will be enough. I know you don't want to feel bad again & I'm sorry but there just aren't tests yet that allow us to be gluten free & still be properly tested. Someday......wishing.........

Your English is very good. I didn't have any trouble at all reading what you wanted to say. At least you know more than 1 language. I only know 1.

BTW, no question is silly. Ask anything you want!

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

Thank you for the links to the articles.  Interesting reading. I'll be telling my brother in law because he has a lot of pain
