Gluten Free Alcohol

The wine shop across the street from me just started carrying "spirits" and one of the vodkas they sell is a potato vodka I'd never heard of before called Luksusowa. It was kinda pricy but I tried it and LOVED it. Then I heard that my wine store did a major markup on it and it's normally a pretty reasonably priced vodka. So if any of you are sensitive to the grain vodkas, I highly recommend Luksusowa...with some Pure Premium Tropicana Orange Juice!

i dont drink so i dont have a favorite, BUT i just thought id tell you guys.. i bartend and id be careful drinking mixed drinks because the "gun" that all the sodas come out of defintely get EVERY SINGLE kind of liquor on the tip and it stays in it.

i used to always drink the sprite out of the gun and now whenever i drink out of the gun (even the water)

i feel glutened :(

so i tell people who are gluten-free to drink something we have that comes out of cans.. like grapefruit, pineapple,redbull.. or something along those lines.

margaritas are good too because its just tequila, cointreau and lime juice.

but maybe im just super sensitive.

let me know if anyone else has experienced this.

(or if anyone wants good drink recipes :P )

How often does that really happen to the soda guns? If thats the case, CC issues would be so bad that people wouldnt drink at bars. And for the juices, thats almost harder when ur at a bar, trying to see which brand of juice they are using to make sure its safe?!? Then yelling over everybody else to ask about it...i can just see it now....What is SAFE to actually order at a bar in this case??!?!?? I dont think its the alcohol to be worried about, it seems like the add ins are the issue.

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
