My partner bought beef stew meat from Wholefoods and the package says "may contain allergens due to shared production areas". Can it be gluten? (I wouldn't have thought so, but it seems to be everywhere....) Thanks.

Based on this vague label it could have trace amounts of wheat, which is considered to be one of the top 8 allergens that are referred to whenever they use the word "allergen" on an ingredient label. Obviously its better to look for items that say "gluten-free" on the label, and it is your call whether or not to eat it. May food companies use blanket statements like this to cover their butts, even though they may not even contain 5 of the top 8 allergens at all. This sort of labelling is very frustrating.

Thanks, Scott!

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
