I just ate bread and i went to the restroom as i thought it was normal, can i still eat candy? Help! Im scared i might die. I sound stupid. Haha

Hello, Zoey and welcome to this online community!

How do you know you have celiac disease? Have you been tested for it and did the test results show that you have celiac disease? Or have you reached this conclusion because of the symptoms you are experiencing from eating bread and other wheat products?

Yes, candy can have gluten in it so you have to read the ingredient label on the candy wrapper or do some research on the internet to find out for sure. I believe there is a place on this forum with a list of snack foods that are safe. Two kinds of candy you want to stay away from for sure are licorice and taffy. They are both made from wheat. But there is other candy you need to avoid as well.

Celiac disease when ignored can do different kinds of damage to your body over long periods of time and it may cause you to have a shorter life if you do not work hard at eating gluten free. But it will not kill you today or tomorrow. It usually takes many years for the damage to seriously affect your health. But you would be smart to get serious about eating gluten free starting now to avoid unnecessary damage to your body.

Hope this helps.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
