Blood test results query

Hi, please can you guys advise me of something that I’m wondering about.

With undiagnosed Celiac, is one more likely to have low or high white blood cell count, low or high red blood cell count and low or high platelet count?

While I am awaiting my endoscopy which is tomorrow, my six year nephew has also been referred to his doctor for a blood test for Celiac’s due to his symptoms and also my sister thinks the doctor said he had a high red blood count. I have a high red blood count but my doctor never mentioned this to me, I’ve just seen it on the copy I requested.

Thank you

Out of the scenarios you brought up it seems more likely that someone with advanced celiac disease could have a higher white blood cell count, possibly due to the gut lesions that can be caused by untreated celiac disease, which is a sign of your body fighting off an infection. When you have such lesions your body is, in fact, fighting off infection all the time which causes lots of gut inflammation.

That said, I also have a chronic issue with high red blood cell levels and must donate blood regularly to treat it. It's likely that this is unrelated to my celiac disease.

Scott, think hemochromatosis , sometime co occurs...

Yes, but that possibility has been eliminated in my case, as well as many other possibilities.

Congrats! Can you share the recipe? We just picked up a bread maker from an estate sale and are experimenting.
