I got my pin at the Celiac Run/Walk held in Baltimore yesterday and it was $5.00. I'm not sure how much they are if you have to order over the phone.

I called today to try to find out more information on how to get these, had to leave a message. I have also put in an email to find out info. As soon as I hear how we can get these I will post the information here for everyone.

I think this is soo awesome and a great way to get the word out!!

I am having a very hard time getting ahold of anyone to find out info on these pins. I have left a couple messages at the phone number listed <_< , and sent a couple of emails and haven't heard a thing back. <_<

Sara- How did you get your pin??

Jessica - I bought my pin at the Univ. of Chicago celiac disease Program (UCCDP) fundraising benefit last month. I don't know that they are still selling them....I'll email the program director and ask, then report back.

That would be GREAT!! I am having a VERY hard time getting ahold of these people! ha I was told they are still selling them, but who knows...if you find out please please post!

FINALLY!!! :D I can report some information to you all!! Here is how you get your Celiac Disease Awareness Pins. Get some, wear them to meetings, to the grocery store, to your bridge club, to Wal-Mart, Target, WHATEVER just create awareness!!

Hi- I'm fairly new to all of this as well. I found out that October is Celiac Awareness month and I was wondering if there was a ribbon associated with celiac disease. I know breast cancer is known for the pink ribbon etc... If anyone has any information about it I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

      I'm very confused... My blood test came out negative, I checked all antibodies. I suppose my Total IgA levels are normal (132 mg/dl), so the test should be reliable. Still, I'm not relieved as I can't tolerate even a single biscuit. I need to talk to my doctor about whether a duodenal biopsy is necessary. But it is really possible to have intestinal damage despite having a seronegative results? I have really strong symptoms, and I don't want to keep skipping university lectures or being bedridden at home.

      They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

      In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

      This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.
