Loss of appetite

I have been diagnosed with celiac for 3yrs. I have been doing pretty good overall. One thing that’s stumps me is that I am never really that hungry and nothing sounds good to me. I am a pretty picky eater because I don’t like fruits and most vegetables except for a few.

Yes, I have the same issue when I first got diagnosed my stomach was so irritated I just didn't feel like eating, I lived off of rice lost a lot of weight. I was diagnosed about 8 years ago now and I still have days where I just don't feel like eating, I actually went a while without doing so, but nowadays I force myself to eat even if its just a little to stay healthy. But yes I understand exactly what you mean.

Sometimes loss of appetite can be caused by vitamin deficiencies. I suggest you research this. Here are a couple of starter links:

Are you taking any supplements? Have you had any follow-up antibody testing or a follow-up endoscopy/biopsy to check for healing in the small bowel villi. After three years that should have happened by now. How committed are you to avoiding gluten?

Yes, I am taking a daily mulivitamin, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, magnesium, Quercetin, Acetyl Cysteine. I just had a re-checkup endoscopy and colonoscopy  in May and everything looks good except for my dischardides. I am very committed to avoiding gluten!

I would suggest adding a gluten-free high potency B-complex to that mix.

From what I understand, my high antibody level and EMA positivity rule out NCGS because those are not typically elevated in NCGS.  That's what I've read anyway?   My doctor is calling it "potential" or "latent" celiac disease, which honestly is just frustrating.  I don't have celiac but I also don't not have celiac.  I'm just in limbo and I can either choose to continue eating gluten and see if it progresses, or I can go gluten free and see how I feel.   I hate this gray area - I just wanted something concrete and definitive and now I kind of wish I never started this whole process.

Tell us about your "longer gluten challenge". Current guidelines for the gluten challenge are the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten (about the amount in 4-6 slices of wheat bread) for at least 2 weeks leading up to the blood draw day or the scoping/biopsy.  "I just received the pathology report with the doctor's comments, and it shows "findings not consistent with celiac disease" and that she believes I may have NCGS." Is this the same doctor who "stated that my duodenum was "drastically different" than the first scope and that "gluten is clearly doing something to me."? There are other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA:  My suspicion, however, is that your...

I have had good luck with eating deep fat fried foods and only mild symptoms of my fatigue and headaches.  Can anyone else relate to this?

Antimo Caputo makes the best Gluten Free wheat flour we have found.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z1HHWYN?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder_k4_1_8&amp=&crid=19YT4PJ90SRK6&sprefix=gluten%2Bf&th=1

Hi all, I've been experiencing some new chronic GI issues for about 2 years now and was leaning towards celiac being the answer, but now feeling very lost after a confusing diagnosis process.  My symptoms have included things like severe bloating, diarrhea, mucus, abnormal colored stool, worsened depression/anxiety, etc.  I had a very borderline TTG-IgA result (4 where <4 negative) last year while on a low-gluten diet. This year after a gluten challenge, I had a negative TTG-IgA but a positive EMA (1:160 where <1:10 negative). The EMA was not run last year so I don't have a comparison for that. I am not IgA deficient. The other panel tests were negative in both cases.  At the beginning of...
