Food For Life Tortillas

I shop at Woodmans for groceries and I noticed that they were selling gluten free tortillas from the food for life line. But they were in the mark down bins and I thought oh boy I wonder if they're no good because of people returning them. I bought them anyway and although they taste ok they crack when you roll them. I think Woodmans is probably discountinuing them which is alright with me. I did find one made by Sami's bakery that is made with millet and flax. The bakery is in Tampa FL. These are soooo good. I love em. They say however they are made in a non gluten free facility. I never had a reaction from them. Its been nice having wraps again, something I thought was going to be history.

Did you heat them before rolling? That reduces the cracking problem a lot.

I like the Don Pancho tortillas better than the Food For Life ones. I follow the instructions on the package - wrap the tortilla in a wet paper towel and then microwave. They don't break apart when in the package either, as long as you keep it sealed.

Tiffany, no if fact after I posted it dawned on me I didn't try heating them alittle first. I'll do that today when I make my lunch.

      I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.

      Trader Joe's carries a good variety of affordable gluten-free foods like bagels, hamburger buns, pasta, etc. I like Franz Gluten Free bread, which is available at my local Costco. Food For Life and Little Northern Bakehouse (advertisers here) also make excellent gluten-free breads. Costco also sells gluten-free pizzas, crackers, gravy, etc.
