I am not sure where to post this, so I will start here. I all of a sudden have this awful scaly rash like skin on my face. It seems to be irritated when i shower. My hair products dont have wheat in them and I use Dove Body Soap.

When I get out of the shower I have been using the Tropical Traditions that I got from jenvan. And that without a doubt doesnt have wheat in it. Should I make an appointment with a dermotologist?

Could be many non-Celiac related things. Did you change makeups recently? Do you have something on your fingers that is getting on your face? I heard of someone who broke out after scrap-booking because of the stuff on her fingers. If the weather extremely dry where you live? Do you have a new pillow case that needs to be washed? If your health plan is like mine, your rash will be gone before you can get into a dermatologist

Could it be rosacea? I was dx'd with it a few years ago and mine was scaly too - the doc said that wasn't typical, but it was still rosacea. I've found that sticking strictly to my dietary restrictions (no gluten, eggs, dairy or soy) has helped a LOT and using plain coconut oil on my face (not right out of the shower - let it calm down first) is the best thing for it.

I've had a terrible problem with rashes over the past few years. The red, scaly kind that got (gets) red after taking showers. It started out on my FEET and the rash came and went over a period of a year and eventually I started getting rashes on my legs, my face, stomach, arms, back, etc. While the rash has left my feet, and gotten better for the most part (it was horrible - all over my body for a good couple of years), I get the red, scaly rashes occasionally on my legs, and SOMETIMES on my face...now it's mostly concentrated on my stomach and comes and goes as it pleases. I have a great cream that I use...very strong and I prob. shouldn't use it too much, but I do try to use it sparingly. It's a hydrocortisone cream in a petroleum base. It's the ONLY thing that will touch my rash. I have found that avoiding certain foods does help greatly, but sometimes the rash is so stubborn and exacerbated by other factors, that I need a little help sometimes.

BTW - I've been to several, different specialists about this and nobody seems to know what causes the rashes. Boo...

:(

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
