Question For Those Who Tricare Paid For Enterolab

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I have been on a gluten free diet for about 2 weeks now. My bloodwork came back with 2 of the non-specific antigens for celiac disease, but my biopsy came back negative. I've been lactose intolerant for several years now, and have decided to go gluten free on my own to see what happens. I am interested in Enterolab but have been hesitant because of the price. I have Tricare however and wanted to hear from those of you how you got Tricare to approve it. Do I need to get the codes ahead of time and call Tricare to make sure they will pay for it? What should I do first? Thanks!!

I have Tricare however and wanted to hear from those of you how you got Tricare to approve it.

I want to know, too. Hubby and I just signed up for Tricare last week.

I made an appointment with my sons pediatrician. I told her about enterolab. She looked into it and got our local lab at the clinic involved then they pushed it through tricare. It is cheaper then a biopsy and a great way to diagnose kids.

So, I just took the sample up to the lab today for them to send off to enterolab. Then they will work directly with our lab and doc regarding the results.

I guess what I need to do is make an appt. with my GI doctor and go from there.

      Thank you for all the excellent information. I moved from Wyoming to California. May be its where I am located but So far none of the Costco Kirkland brand I have looked at is labeled gluten free. Same with the Sam's Members Mark. The Kirkland nuts you mention all say they are processed in a plant that processes wheat. I am going to keep checking. Thank...

      I’m glad you have a clear answer. Some endoscopes have enough magnification for the doctor to see the damage during the procedure.

      I could not find the thread, but I recall at least one user who was drinking regular gluten beer daily but getting celiac blood tests done often (I think it was monthly) and doing a biopsy each year and all celiac disease tests were always negative. Everyone is different, but in general regular beer would be considered low gluten (not gluten-free!). I have no issues with Daura Damm, but those who are super sensitive might.
